If you are the first to seriously have an idea or want something, then you have the legal right to that thing which is effectively like a patent. It may be a business idea, marriage proposal, social reform idea, political party and etc. Nothing can stop you from getting that thing unless you by yourself stop yourself, especially if there is no valid reason for you not to have that thing you have decided to have. You will have that thing because it is legally yours. It holds true for everything but on the surface, it appears as if a man or woman with more resources can stop another with less say in a place like Ilesa Nigeria, a billionaire can stop a civil servant while the Nigerian President can stop the billonaire. A random billionaire from India or China can stop the Nigerian President using the power of his government and a retired US President can stop everybody with the power of the US government. It appears like that but in actual fact, only you yourself can stop yourself. No one can stop you from the outside with whatever resources that they may have. Take Northern Nigeria for example, the most revered person to the masses there till date is the late Mallam Aminu Kano who is regarded as champion of the takakawa as against Ahmadu Bello who held political power as Premier and represented the establishment. There is nobody like Mallam Aminu Kano in Nigerian history with mass followership among millions of people despite having no real political power or government post ever save parliamentary position and post as minister in a military government while still being a major point of reference for millions of people. No means of spending money or manipulating people. He became leader by the sheer force of his character. He did not use money or other such resources to aid himself and no one was able to stop him or beat him to it . Nobody like Aminu Kano from Southern Nigeria for instance who got there and stayed there on such a large scale with sheer force of character and negligible finances. There are politicians with no money save integrity across the country and among them was my late Granddad who was the first Organising secretary of the AG, late Pa J O Lawanson and they all have followership in their own sphere and in their own right but nothing on the scale of the late Aminu Kano anywhere in the country. Pa Awo was successful as Premier of the West but Aminu Kano never got such an opportunity to serve but he probably has more mass appeal among the Hausa than Pa Awo has among the Yoruba despite not having led the Hausa politically.

It goes to show that no one can use any amount of resources to stop anyone from getting what they actually want for themselves or becoming what they have set their minds to become. Only you can stop yourself and if you are the first to have a plan, you have an exclusive right to that plan or what can be called a right of 'first refusal'.
