They were just unlucky to have the penalty shootout against Egypt be their first in the tournament. They were nervous because of taking penalty in front of home fans for the first time. Unlike this match were they are said to be experienced. It wasn't that the Cameroonians were bad at penalties, they were just inexperienced with playing penalties In front of nervous home crowd.
