Wow Pictures! shocked

MTN has changed its logo as part of a revamped brand identity, the company announced on Wednesday.

The new logo still features the iconic yellow colour, but the oval-shaped blue background with a red accent has been dropped. Instead, the stripped-down logo now has MTN in black lettering - still framed in an oval shape.

The company said in a statement the refreshed brand identity would be revealed on 27 February.

It said that the new logo aligns with its so-called "Ambition 2025", which involves its evolution into a technology firm, and developing its fintech and digital services platform.

Ultimately, this will see the company split into different separate businesses, including one focused on its infrastructure assets.

The operator, which was founded in 1994, has over the years made great inroads on the African continent - especially Nigeria, its largest market outside South Africa.

It is currently exiting the Middle East to focus on African markets is currently underway, and the company has already left war-torn Syria and Yemen.

Telecommunications Group MTN has revealed a new logo ahead of an official brand refresh.

The logo, which has been submitted to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission of South Africa for approval, will see the traditional yellow, blue and white logo replaced with a sleek black design.

In an accompanying press release, MTN said it will make an official announcement at the end of February.

“MTN Group’s Ambition 2025, aimed at ‘Leading digital platforms for Africa’s progress’ has ushered in a new look that is aligned to our evolution from a telecommunications company to a technology company underpinned by one simple, consistent, yet striking brand.

“Our commitment and focus to accelerate Africa’s progress sees MTN revealing a refreshed brand identity and campaign from 27 February. The campaign is inspired by an insight that doing is a bridge between can and done, because all progress comes from action.”

MTN chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer Nompilo Morafo said the new look aligns with their evolution from a telecommunications company to a technology company.

“Our commitment and focus to accelerate Africa’s progress sees MTN revealing a refreshed brand identity and campaign from 27 February,” said Morafo.

The only thing which is reasonable is their theme, changing from everywhere you go to Yhello ,since they didn't cover everywhere in Nigeria.

In 1849, French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote “plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose “ – the more things change, the more they stay the same… Jean-Baptiste's words still ring true 150 years on..............

Empty Hen and scam... Hope the rebranding is not another scheme to rip off subscribers

Only on Empty Hen network you subscribe for monthly data plan every 3 days because someone seem to be using your data while you sleep
