The other day, we saw a Rodri handball and it wasn't called only for apologies to follow later. During the group stages, we saw a very bad red against Atletico.

It's a pattern but they are excused because they are playing well.

Nope! It would still be 2:1 because both teams scored away.
The rule gives an advantage to the away team.

Assuming Liverpool didn't score in Inter Milan's home, maybe the first leg ended 0:0
And the return leg in Anfield ended 1:1, inter will go through because they had an away goal.
