I think it strange that we are all quick to persecute Emefiele for any problem that befalls Nigeria and leave out the Ministers of Finance and Economy.
We forget that he is just the Gov. of CBN and we have a Minister Zainab Ahmed that keeps borrowing the country into debt. People who know about finance would recall how the Nigerian economy was, under Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and under Kemi Adeosun before the forces that be decided to accuse her of NYSC exemption letter forgery.

The CBN governor under this women enjoyed amazing tenors, but we are all quick to bury GIE as though he is the one who is borrowing Nigeria into debt and increasing the Value Added Tax of the country.

Godwin Emefiele has done excellent well thus far and i think he should be applauded for what he has achieved and not buried. Plus., if we want to point hands let the fingers go round the Minister of Finance, Economy before reaching him.

@OP should have sense. your understanding of economics is shallow. As Governor of CBN we are talking about his policies to rescue the naira. in CBN Monetary policies are made yet the naira is still have a free fall.

When Niger Rep people come to do business in Nigeria, they will definitely come with USD, but they didn't consider that the country is POOR!

The CBN, under Emefiele, has promoted the Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme (AADS), designed for prospective farmers who must be Nigerian youth within the ages of 18 to 35 years. The plan under the scheme is to engage at least 10,000 youths per state and the Federal Capital Territory in agricultural production towards food security, job creation and economic diversification, based on commodities of comparative advantage. see ehn, it is a lot he has done.

It's sad that it's so convenient to quickly blame a southerner. OP is right I can still recall how Okonjo Iweala coordinated the economy under Jonathan and people didn't even know that Sanusi existed until he spewed the $20bn NNPC fraud nonsense against GEJ.
Suddenly, under Buhari, reverse is the case...do we have a minister of finance who is coordinating the economy or we have a CBN Governor who is filling the void created by an incompetent minister?

Never has it been the responsibility of the CBN Governor to regulate the economy, but for some reasons (that seems engineered) Emefiele has been made to take every fall in the economy but nothing for the rise, take for example the palliatives that were uncovered during the Pandemic this revenue were allocated by Emefiele's administration to help every Household and it was sat upon. No one praised him for that.
