If they can ensure a decent processing of their beef, then this is a welcome development. But we don't want to hear story of northerners processing other meats and selling it as beef. |

All these aboki leaders will just say something that is impossible. How are you going to transport the meat of say, 100 cattle to Lagos on a daily basis❓ Do you have enough refrigerated trucks for the purpose❓ And what if the truck breaks down on the road❓ Before you know sef, people will start rejecting the meat, saying it is from sick or dead animals.☹️☹️☹️☹️ Don't start what you can't implement. |

NORTHERN NIGERIA SHOULD GO AND FACE AGRICULTURE AND ALLOW NIGER DELTA REGION TO EXPLOIT ITS CRUDE OIL AND GAS RESOURCES. It is oppressive the way the federal government is sharing the oil money of the Niger delta region while leaving the north with all its fertile land untapped. Subsequent government in Nigeria must open the north to mechanised agriculture. Fulani herdsmen that are terrorising farmers in their farm must be tackled to pave the way for security in the land. |

Now you are closer to my point. This will drive investment and development if well managed. There are storage facilities to be built and workers to be employed and so on and so forth. Adamawa gains at the end. Look, what Adamawa is proposing is what happens in most civilized nations. America is ten times the size of Nigeria. Cow meats are processed from far places and shipped to everyone's neighborhood. Adamawa can do. eldoradoxx: |

Thanks to the Adamawa state government for this laudable farm produce decision. It is a wonderful time to initiate and manage the animal products delivery to the end users neatly and safely. Kudos. This step of yours was propounded by late Chief Obafemi Awolowo in Nigeria 1979 presidential election as a means of solving herders and farmers market problems. There are enough jobs for Nigerian people if we have right thinking men and women in political power. |

This can't be possible. The cattle rearer in the north is nomadic, unless they can stay in thier state and rear there animal. |

Ikegwuru:We are Africans where live cows are used for festivities and people want their meat fresh from the slaughters. Government should not have its hand in determining whether I buy live cow or beef, its not government business. If Adamawa is envious of the huge revenue Lagos and other states make from the cattle business, what I suggested earlier is the best way out. If Lagos is imposing #10k per cow, Adamawa should impose 20k per cattle that leaves its State so that it takes it's own tax even before the cattle gets to Lagos that ripe where it did not sow |

Nobody will buy processed meat in Nigeria. I Think what they should have done is impose the same #10k on each life buyer moved out of the state, just the same as Lagos |

God gave all brains to think, aboki exchange theirs with cows, now that they are retrieving lost brain,it will surely reward them, their economy will experience growth, social political life will see changes then lastly religion, must give way to real light. They barked foolishly like starving dogs over VAT collection,as if their lives depends on hand-outs. Explanation to the VAT theory covers farm-harvest-process and exports to retain substantial values of raw materials and it's value chains, the economies of scale advantage aiding other sectors of state's economic and commercial activities is a penetrating benefits that everyone will have something to chew. I want to believe that one of their Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford trained sons has returned home to educate the illiterate leaders how many advanced nations leaders think and progress. It will end in resources control restructuring! Ewu hausa, mme! .......... Learn how to drive manual and automatic cars professionally and process driving license and vehicle papers. I hope they will provide refrigerated trucks and have budgeted for buying them and maintaining them. The governor will be disappointed to realize that meat does not do well travelling in the hot sun for 2-3 days. Beef no be onions. The costs of these trucks will - at least for a decade - be way more than any revenue per head he's planning to get. But at least the thinking is in the right direction. |

Redcrafton: I'm from SS, so you can't dismiss my answer because you assume I'm from SW. They bring the buying power to purchase all these things that are being brought to the table by others. And how do Yorubas earn this buying power? By offering services and working in jobs that may not be visible to you. I mean, they can't just sit at home and collect the salary they use to buy those goods, am I right? And your second question "what do you do in other regions" can be answered with: when those other regions become as urbanized as the SW, maybe people will move there. Why would someone go all the way to Abia or Sokoto when they can find the work they need in Lagos or Ibadan? Conversely, people leave Abia and Sokoto because they can't find work in their own states. But you can't really be serious: Lagos is a huge melting pot where easily 1/4 of its residents are not from SW. Those people also eat produce from other regions. |
