Hell for those in the Old Covenant which promises Death as punishment for sin is the grave. However, in the New Covenant which promises eternal damnation as punishment for sin, Hell refers to place of eternal damnation where sinners end up.

Quibbling over the semantics of this does not overturn the of the Truth as revealed in God's Law.

the lake of fire is a figurative language which simply means to die forever and not to resurrect thereafter.
It is the second death.

The first death(the usual death we see people dying in real life) allows for resurrection in the spirit realm. At that point, everyone will face judgement.
But after the judgement, the bible records that there will be a second death for those whose names were not found in the book, that one is die and go forever, no resurrection, nothing like fire burning people

I was shocked initially. But the pastor is very correct. Where sinners will go is lake of fire-fiery furnace of fire which is worse than hell.
