Unfortunately, most of the foolish "foreigners" that come here to lambast Lagos,LASG, Tinubu or Yorubas in general, will SWIFTLY apply for this Scheme hence, this scheme must FIRST accomodate the indigines THEN the developers.......EVEN Camerounians and Togolese must be accomodated before them.

Very good, will improve the transportation and movements in Lagos. It should be maintained via a smart system, with life time maintenance and subscription to the service scheme, to maintain standards and safety of passengers. Drivers must be vetted and documents/identification of the drivers must be kept by a bureau, after some vetting...with pictures and finger prints and all. To make it easy to apprehend drivers who rob or attack their Passengers violently. Cameras must also be installed. The owner gets the proceed, but the scheme should be maintained and managed by a private subsidiary, skilled in such business, this must be a part of the agreement. Sanitization of the public transport sector, and providing security for passengers is key, to the Lagos mega city schemes. It can only work when proffessionals manage the sector.

I do not like Jagaban. But let's be serious. Do you want Nigeria to be this? Or do you want Nigeria to be any of Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra or Abia?

The choice is yours to make.

@naptu2, is this not a replica of the LASMI scheme under Fashola's regime? I remember Lagos state doing something similar to this via LASMI (LASMI financed d purchase of brand new nissan Sunny cars to be used as taxis within the metropolis)
i tire ooo.. Just same thing I was wondering.. When will this type of schemes stop.. They should leave all this to the private sectors to handle.. Not a government thing that the vehicle will be given to party members who will never pay back... Besides the world is changing rapidly Uber and bolt are making taxis extinct in many countries.. Let's move with technology and leave this praise singers schemes to the archives.

How many years will it take the afonja drivers to finish paying for the cars considering the economic situation and how lazy they are?

A good development I must say, but this same scheme was done during fashola era which didn't see the end of days.

The idea that this will take out rickety cars from Nigeria roads is collectable but then those it solve Nigeria problems. Give them food and electricity and watch this change with speed, investors will beg to partner with your country. Nigeria is too vast for all this cheap scam abeg ..

The most futile exercise a govt can embark on is buying cars. In a few years, you won't see these cars again.
Whether under the guise of "empowerment" or any such political jargons, it is simply a means of awarding juicy procurement contracts to cronies.
If the govt is serious, it should focus attention to delivering intra-state fast light rail networks, link water ways, open up the hinterlands to spread development and aid decongestion of the city centre.
Sttategic planning not pedestrian politics of buying cars
You are wise bro.

N1,845,500.00 initial deposit. If a driver has that, why will he want to go with LagosRide and be indebted for 4 years using a brand new car that will be abused by Lagos riders and roads? When he can simply take the money to buy a used or toks corolla and drive Uber debt free. Another failed taxi project loading

If they did electric cars I will know they are very serious.

That would have signified confidence in their commitment to stable power supply and making sure our roads are not flooded.

But over all, good progress!
