What I Saw When Coming Back From Work (2007)

Last year 2021, I was robbed by two 12 years old boys. One of them grab me tight from the back, as I tried to turn, the other one approach me from the front with a long dagger, quickly slide his hands into my pocket, snatch my bag and zoom of with my things, including money for my transportation.

Chaiii.

This boys seem very smart in their field or skills, infact, they are professional in obtaining. I just watched them in awe as they take off into their hide out in darkness.

I look all around me.

See me see trouble, I blurted in shock mode. shocked

I was never angry but calmly walk towards their direction and met with them. I relate with them in meekness and they gave back to me everything they took from me.

With a smile, I gave both of them a handshake and said to them, thank you.

THE MESSAGE

Meekness is not a sign of weekness but a sign of your spiritual and physical strength.

Althouhh crazy humans sees meakness as a sign of weakness but truly, it is the source of your strength against all odds

Those who cannot control the spirit of anger becomes slaves to the spirit of anger, but he who can suppress anger has more strength.

To be meak you must learn to break your will in many things and endure all things without complaint, but persevere faithfully.

If you will persevere in seeking perfection, you must consider yourself a nobody and be meak. If you would become meak, you must be content to seem like a fool in this life

In meekness, your tolerance and endurance will be as high as the heavens itself. You are always in control of any form of anger as swell as yourself in all level.

I repeat; meakness is actually the elder brother of humility. I mean, meakness is a higher virtue than humility

Humility is a like a dirty spiritual apron or cloak you wear to banish pride but meakness is a spiritual breast plate that covers and protect your heart and body.

Humility is a choice
Meakness is a gift from God.

Humility can exalt you, but meekness will save your life spiritually and physically.

THE STORY

Years back I was into network engineering (ISP) internet service provider. For those who don't understand, we provide internet for people and businesses..

A firm that can makes millions of naira in a month, 16 years ago is not small firm at all.

My boss who believes so much in me and my work, asked me to work late which I did.

As I left work 8:00pm to be precise, on my way home, I saw some group of men gathering at a T Junction in my street road

From the motion of the men there, I felt something wrong has happened.

As I walk very close, I saw it was a police gathering and there was no way for me to turn back or run. I got the feeling that, they might even chase me or shoot at me because it was a long road as something is not right with their gathering.

I walk into them and one of the police men asked me, young guui, where are you coming from?

Work, I replied him.

He asked me to lay down on the pave road with my face down which I did. He climb onto me and stand on top me, and step down and climb me again and again.

I sigh each time the police man climb my back.

After about few seconds, he step down and asked me to get up which I also did. He pointed at a certain direction at my back and said to me, go and look that man.

I turned and saw a man lying face upward on the ground. As I walk closer a bit, I saw it was a very muscular man, very huge man with heavy built muscles and strenght. I look at his chest and saw there was a bullet hole and blood all over his chest, he was short and killed.

What Happened?

He was an okada man at night, who left his family and went to look for more ofdaily bread for his wife and children. At 8: pm at night, some boys stop him and tried to robb him, but as a strong man, he tried to over power them, he refuse to coperate with the boys that tried to rob him.

So, they short and killed him instant. The boys that killed him, all fled.

I was the only one that walked into the scene, everyone fled into their homes, infact the entire road was empty.

I began to lament on how I use my leg walka enter trouble.

In my present, I saw the police contacting his family members. What a heart breaking and shocking news they heard that night..

After that, another police officer told me to go.

Run, run, run.

FINAL WORDS.

Life experience has thought me that, no matter how physically strong or brave you think you are, you can never outsmart the plans of the underworld.

MY READERS; In this part of the world, we are not safe. Even your so called politicians, and preacher are more safe than the ordinary common man, you and I.

Money protect them and even the preachers have more confidence over money than the God they preach about.

The group above, goes out with many escort and body guards, and also comes in the same. But you and I goes out and comes in with only spiritual escort -

God an His angels

You blind man, the son of another blind man.

What seem to be a loss to me is really nothing but a gain to me.

No preachers wrecked me.
No one wrecked me.

I must loss some things in other to gain everything.

It was God that brought me my kneels so that, he himself can lift me up to the pinacle of glory.

Haven't you head? that God resist the proud and gives his grace to the humble.

Meekness is not weakness...but people tend to take meek people for granted so one should be a lion for at least one day so that you can be the sheep you want to be in peace.

Fight so savagely that no one ever wants your trouble.

I remember when my very gentle looking cousin smashed a small maltina bottle on one of the rugged looking guys who used to gleefully disturb our business back then. He jumped from a high staircase and connected with the back of the guys head with full force with a loud bang. From back ooo, the guy did not see it coming. Confusion everywhere.

Since that day, nobody dey dared to bother him again. Twenty years after, the rugged looking guy asked me
" that your cousin nko? " He never forgot that incident.

You are very, very correct.

To be meek, especially in a place like Nigeria is not an easy thing at all.

Glad to see and hear people that behave strange at odd situations. This is soo me.

Another thing is, having a sharp and audible instinct. Have lost count how I have been saved from ish from a distance.

It pays to be spirit-woke.

Very vital lesson learnt. It takes a wise man to know when to fight and when to flee. As for me, once i see gun in a man's hand i look for a quick exit. No be my body one bastard go pump bullets into. angry
