As A Nairalander, What's Your Impression About The Russian Ukraine War? by Nobody: 8:00pm On Feb 25, 2022
My impression is as follows:

During the second world war, Russia went to war with Finland, but as small as Finland is, it was able to kill over a million Russian soldiers before Russia was able to beat them.

What is the guarantee that Russia can beat Ukraine that is more powerful, determined and equipped than Finland?

Also, Germany during the world war 2, was able to easily capture Russia(as large as Russia is). But when the German soldiers reached Moscow, they could have captured it the way they captured other Russia cities.

But they decided to rest for some days thinking that Moscow was already in their hands.

But the winter and the snow had negative effects on the German machines, and together with the assault from the Allied powers, the Germans were driven back.

If Russia was so easy to be penetrated and almost defeated, then Ukraine can spring surprises.

Also, during it's days as USSR, Russia was easily defeated in Czechoslovakia.

The observation is that Russia has large army which is somehow slow and easy to be defeated by a small army.

That's what happened in Finland. They had large army which is slow. Small Finland killed over a million of the Russians within days.

Today, they are in Ukraine, and as always, they are slow(since yesterday, they have been expected to start the assault on Kyiev, but they are no where to be found, giving the Ukrainian the opportunity to strategize and mobilize for defence) and the Ukrainian have started killing some of them who manage to come to through.

What do you think of this Russia assault?

When it comes to their army they have a very Poor strategic leadership with the sole exception of 1944–45 in WW2...we are already seeing it here..

Big contrast in the quality of training..weapons and battle readiness between a small number of elite forces and the rest of the army.. cheesy

Also the huge gap of 20+years they were frozen with minimal innovation/research/production of new stuff..it makes sense because basically when the collapse happened everything fell apart “hard” so there was no money for anything.. food included..so the military branch not only did not move on forward to new stuff or improved stuff.. it moved BACKWARDS and a lot of great projects stalled or were abandoned ..a lot of great machines were sold or scrapped and maintenance was so poor that even new-ish ships and others decayed awfully to pitiful state...

Now it looks Russia is somewhat recovering BUT its a very long and painful process to recover to at least meaningful levels of quality and quantities in pretty much everything..from Ships to Planes to infrastructure a lot of skilled labor was lost for good and factories are still in ruins and using 80s technology so they will have to revamp from scratch..they try to maintain and improve to decent standards..

All the old project are garbage for today’s standards and machines can last only to a point...so their biggest weakness is how much they lost and how much time and money is needed to rebuild everything... wink wink

Now they are again hurting their economy by invading Ukraine.. cheesy
Clowns..

There are several sides to the current Russian/Ukraine debacle.

Put yourself in the shoes of Putin and answer this question: Would you allow Ukraine join NATO?

Remember, Ukraine joining NATO means there will be heavy presence of USA intelligence around Russia. This is not suatainable for Russia because of their feud with USA.

Ukraine on its own is being continually bullied by Russia, their big brother. Would you blame them if they run to NATO for succour and protection?

It's obvious Russia just doesn't want any NATO forces near them in Ukraine. If Finland goes on to try to join NATO as well they would face same bloodshed.

Meanwhile, Biden seems too scared to attack Russia cause he is trying to avoid a nuclear war while Germany and others are scared as bulk of their energy comes from guess where...... Yes, Russia! angry

It is true.

During the Cuban missile crises, the US almost went to war with Russia for stationing missiles in Cuba close to the US.

So US must not do Russia what she didn't want Russia to do to her.

Also Russia should not bully Ukraine and Ukraine must not give the Russians the impression that she could be a threat to Russia.

That is the summary of the war.
Territoriality is very important to both parties.

Ok.

That means Germany and others don't want to suffer energy crises as a fall out of the war.

Thanks.

It shows how weak Russia is. Let me me explain myself. My pastor used to say if you are a married man and you keep telling your wife that "l am the head of this house", he said that the man should check himself out, that something is wrong somewhere.

If Russia thinks she is world power, he should try to bomb her mate.

This same mentality is what makes me to look at those white people who racially abuse Africans. I always see them as weak and feeling inferior, because if you were not afraid of me, you would not want to make me feel less using my skin color. You should face the real issue, which is our strength and spread. Our agility and stoutness.

So Russia should go and die.

It is possible because Russia annexed Crimea and the region still belongs to Russia till today just because Russia is a super power.

A non super power cannot try that.

Also, in Europe, aggressors sometimes could be pacified.

When Hitler went to annex Czechoslovakia, European leaders agreed that Hitler should keep Czechoslovakia with the condition that he won't annex another European country.

It was when he broke the agreement and annexed Poland that European leaders declared war on Germany because they were afraid he might want to annex their countries also after Poland.

Don't be surprised that European leaders have silently agreed for Russia to annex Ukraine if that would pacify Russia.

Forget all those sanctions and condemnations
