The Police command in Edo on Friday confirmed that some monies suspected to be carted away by robbers during Thursday’s armed robbery attacks on some banks in Uromi, have been recovered.

Mr Phillip Ogbadu, the State Commissioner of Police confirmed this in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ogbadu said that about N37 million and five cars suspected to have been used by the robbers were recovered at a bush where they were abandoned.

He noted that it was suspected that the robbers might have abandoned the monies and the vehicles on realising that the police were on their trail.

NAN reports that dare devil armed robbers had late Thursday evening carried out what many persons had termed coordinated armed robbery attacks on some commercial banks in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo.

NAN reports the operations according to some eye witnesses lasted for more than two hours.

NAN further reports that the Edo Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu had earlier on Friday paid an on the spot assessment visit to the Uromi.

What I know is, the true figure of the money recovered will never be known, because police self na thieves.

It's good they are recovering some of the stolen money though

The robbers would be confused now.
Like a popular joke I read a few years back, after the robbery, the young robbers were trying to count the money but the older robber told them not to count that the media would announce the amount they stole during the 8 pm news.

As predicted, the news gave the figures, but when the robbers counted the money they stole, it wasn't in any way close to the amount declared on TV.

E.G, the robber stole 20m, the news said 100M grin grin

Real money was stolen with the PEN.

Bloody good for nothing liars, police were on their trail indeed. Armed robbers that operated for close to 2hrs, robbing five banks yet these extortionists in uniforms, as usual failed to respond, not even a "banger" from the Police. NPF should give credit to Ubiaja youths that barricaded the escape route the Armed robbers wanted to take.

We need the robbers to come out and confirm if what they stole is what the police declared.

This is to ensure accountability.

The most useless thing about black criminals is that they have less than 10% plan of escape.
That is the major reason they are being captured outside Nigeria like flies, especially the Yahoo and drug guys.
First they don't study the laws and geography of the area, they just go there to commit crimes.
Someone would want to go and hustle in China but give him an unlabelled map of Asia and he can't point out China from the map.

Like their brainwashed Religious urchins, they believe one God or Charm will make them varnish with their loot.
Being smart in an environment like Nigeria is almost useless because the non smart people outnumbers the smart ones by 99 to 1.
That is exactly the reason you see the legit Nigerians thrive outside Nigeria where the thinking playing ground is level.
Almost all those who succeeded in Nigeria committed one crime or the other in whatever sector they work/ed, Be it Education, Banking, Health, Religion, Petroleum, Judiciary, Politics, Sports etc, all are thieves.

Stop lying sir, the abandoned some of the loot and vehicles after some brave youths used obstacles to block their escape route, give due credit to Edo youths for once in your corrupt life

Nigeria Police and and other security operatives na joke dem be. Robbery that lasted for Hours u were nowhere to be found, up till now no arrest has been made. If na to de block boys for road and extort them, una go carry first. Where was all these Agbero looking policemen that likes beating unarmed civilians? I just saw a video when they arrested and Brutalized a young guy simply because he had a lighter on him. I pray they will meet their doom.. They will be shot by those armed robbers they are avoiding.

https://www.nairaland.com/7004328/edo-bank-robbers-abandoned-cash

This source shows that the robbers abandoned their vehicles and the cash cos EDO youths blocked the road and NOT the Nigerian Police...Now the useless Police officers are taking the glory...where were day wen the robbery was going on?...I saw some of the robbery videos recorded by some residents during the incidence...This same incidence happened in Ilesa few years ago when Zenith bank was robbed for over 45 minutes...The bank is located between two police stations and none of the police station could send police officers to retaliate....many residents were killed...the robbers even had gut and shot Police officers while fleeing through the Police station route that leads to Ibadan...thanks to some IFE YOUTHS that blocked the exit road and the robbers abandoned both money and vehicles....
