They were sanctioned when they annexed Crimea. But it didn't make them return Crimea to Ukraine.

The West shouldn't have made this happen in the first place.

They have not yet captured a city after 5 days of fighting, Russia had the absolute upper hand in air power, but their planes are being shot out off the sky. Their soldiers have ran out of food, tanks and equipment have run out of fuel, their soldiers are fucking low on morale and don't want to fight, and even their best of the best have been almost completely obliterated, 200-300 paratroopers have been shot down from the sky. And Russia still hasn't gotten to the hard part! Combine that with the fact that the EU is sending mor weapons to Ukraine to match Russian firepower, and let's not forget that ther Russian economy is currently in the shitter, so financing this war is going to be one hell of a task!

3. Economy (to fund the war)

God bless you. People talking did not even know the Cuban crises. Ukraine has killed over 10,000 of it citizens in Eastern part under the illusion that west will support if Russia try to invade him. I just pity FIFA for meddling into it because what they done now will have ripple effect. The troops used in these invasion is around 1.5 million , and this is just a quarter of the entire military strength of Russia, there are still reservists. If you watch V-day celebrations you will be quite amazed about Russia military strength.
