Nigeria’s economy may overtake South Africa’s by 2025 to become the biggest on the continent as oil prices climb and consumer spending in Africa’s most populous nation expands, Morgan Stanley said. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-28/nigeria-s-economy-may-overtake-south-africa-by-2025-morgan-stanley-says.html |

2025 is too far, I expect it to be earlier(2020) if our officials will reduce their corruption. |

dustydee:2025 is not too far, lets be real.We need at least 10years of continuous investment in power, road, railway, hospitals, schools and university, security and a corresponding decline in public and private orruption for our economy to climb out of the woods. |

Re: Nigeria’s Economy May Overtake South Africa By 2025 - Morgan Stanley by playmode(m): 5:04pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
The only reason SA's economy is stronger than Nigeria's in the first place is because of lesser corruption and better management.Nigeria on any good day is richer than SA and will feed SA for decades. The only problem we have is our moronic and corrupt Government with the commander in thief of the armed forced in charge.Without a complete U-turn in the way we do things ,i seriously doubt that this can happen by 2025. |

What an insult!!!!!! useless nigeria to overtake south africa utter and complete nonsense, in stead nigeria should be praying that countries like Liberia, Chad or any other smaller countries dont overtake us by the year 2013. South Africa is 20 years way ahead of us and we are here claming "Giant Of Africa" even Ghana are ahead of us, Nigeria and Nigerians just like pumping up themselves The only thing nigeria is good at exporting is 419, electoral rigging and prostituition, yes, we are Giant of Africa in those areas. |

Re: Nigeria’s Economy May Overtake South Africa By 2025 - Morgan Stanley by Nobody: 8:27pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
I believe nigeria can achieve it. For instance, nobody could believe that the April 2011 election could go as it went. Nobody gave Nigeria any chance of better-than before election but we did it. Nobody believe that someone like Dora Akunyili still exists in Nigeria despite the endemic corruption in the land. I've seen some of my friends that genuinely want to join the police force, not for what they want to gain, but to right the wrongs in the force. With God's protection, I believe they can. There are expatriates who earn lots of money in the private sector but resign to join Government of Lagos State just to make things work. Its some Nigerians that are planning the 1 million people match to press home the masses' demand for constant power supply. In fact, of recent, some hackers hacked websites of leading generator suppliers (perhaps Milkano) to show that enought is enough. The militants in the Niger Delta are willingly laying down their arms. The Boko Haram Issue will also be a thing of the past. Good Nigerians abound. Let's join the trail and make Nigeria better NIGERIA, MY COUNTRY, THE COUNTRY OF MY FATHERS AND FOREFATHERS WILL BE GREAT! |
