The Igbo Apprenticeship has been around for as long as most of us can remember.

This is a system that puts mostly young men under the tutelage of experienced businessmen. This is different from a regular job or enrollment for skill acquisition because unlike jobs salaries are not paid but stipends may be given at the boss' discretion. And unlike skill acquisition it's not just about knowing the work it's also about learning the managerial part. In most cases these boys serve as erand boys, sales boy, store manager etc and still do chores at home for the boss

The whole practice is aimed at transitioning the apprentice into a competent businessman by exposing him to the product knowledge, customer relationship management, financial management and most importantly the business relationships he will need to succeed when he starts his own business.

However, the practice has been marred by people who have taken advantage of the naivety of these young boys to exploit them and lay them off. On the flip side, this has also produced some of the most successful businessmen in the country.

Nothing beats domain knowledge and having the right contacts for your business, this is the price these boys have to pay to get the required knowledge and business relationships required to succeed.
Imagine you can get the same headstart that they get without spending 7years

gotahia.com provides you with the business contacts you need- importers, suppliers, distributors and manufacturers. These are the people you need to get products at lower prices to start or grow your business.

What's more, to make the experience more rewarding, Gotahia organizes indepth training to arm you with industry knowledge to make your business highly profitable.

Like the apprenticeship practice you'll need to work, be patient at times to learn but like the serious apprentices you can build a real business.

Here you are a reseller not an apprentice, you'll have your own business from the beginning but you have the added advantage of working with veterans in your chosen product line as suppliers.

The Ibo apprentice system worked for some people but it also ended badly for some people. The way Nigeria is right now, 7 years is a very long time o!

The training you talked about... please how can I be a part of it?
