Other parts of Nigeria and black race had been celebrating multiple births.
Have you heard igbos, Yorubas, igala etc were killing twins before Ms Slessor came?
It was limited to the people of Calabar extraction.

As a matter of fact it wasn't Calabar as a whole, it was just a village close by. Killing of twins was stopped by their own king before Mary Slessor was born
