Divine Rays British School in Anambra has grabbed a slot for Nigeria in the America’s ‘Diamond Challenge competition‘.

The 3 students; Elvis Ugochukwu, Jennifer Onyejiego and Anthony Maduka outclass other competitors in the preliminary stages to take the first position and will represent Nigeria at the Global Submit in the United States of America on April 1, 2022.

The trio created a battery that stores and converts carbon dioxide (CO2) from automobiles, petroleum factories, incinerators to electricity and reduces environmental pollution.

The competition was named ‘Horn Entrepreneurship’, created in 2012 by University of Delaware, backed by academic grounding in state-of-the-art entrepreneurship education methodologies, to offer teens unique opportunity to learn entrepreneurship by putting their ideas into practice with $100,000 in prizes and resources to take student ideas to the next level.

Runners-up at the national final were Mater Ambilis Secondary School, Anambra; Caleb British International School Lekki, Lagos; African Church Model School, Lagos; Vetland Senior Grammar School; Iju Senior Grammar School, Lagos, among others.

The Divine Rays British School was established by the Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma is known widely for its academic excellence within its short period of existence.
