I am an optimistic Nigerian and I want Nigeria to be a great country that we are all proud of and the envy of other countries that they will like to come and stay and be happy living here. But from all indications,we are not getting it right.Take the power sector for an example, when we were kids we use to say NEPA is an epileptic entity, but what we have now is just nothing to write about.onecan hardly sleep in the night, there is heat everywhere, the kids are sweating and can barely sleep too.cant this power situation be fixed once and for all. They should tell us how much it costs to fix the power situation ,we are ready all Nigerians will donate the money to fix it provided the money will not be embezzled yet again.God help us in this country. To fuel generator set is another issue as the price of fuel has gone up.An average Nigerian is frustrated,if you see an average Nigerian smiling, that person deserves a Ballondoor award.Nawa.

We will finally get it right the day we have a leader/president who is thoroughly disciplined above board, courageous to challenge the status quo, lead by character, competent to take bold steps and capacity to design and redirect.

Those we've had in the past are jokes and the present crops are clowns

When we the masses starts electing right and protesting for the things we care about.
The problem is not the politicians, the problem is the masses who won't elect a visionary leader.

If we keep giving excuses then we would never make it.
We have to unite and fight the corruption. That's the only way government listens. If the citizens don't have one voice, then they would never listen.

The citizens are disillusioned, they have lost hope, everybody is suffering and smiling,I won't blame them, the scars from the past still haunts them.

The cabals are not our problem. Our major problem is individual indiscipline.

You may have your best brains manning sensitive positions, but may end up messing things up by using the positions for their selfish advantage.

Those western countries built their systems on strong institutions that are independent. Those strong institutions are the catalysts that check the excesses of strong men/individual regardless of power, position, intellect, fame and background.

Ours is a society where the strong men dictate for the institutions, thereby taking us back to the 'pre-stone age' setting. It can only take the effort of a thoroughly disciplined leader to build and encourage institutions to be effective.

Such a leader must start the cleansing from his family, friends, political party, religion/denomination and tribes. These aforementioned factors are the tendencies that had messed up our precious leaders. They lacked the courage to make their party members, religion/denomination members, families and associates as scale goats whenever any of them erred.

I've studied the sociology of modern advanced countries and see that their citizens are not angels, but the strong institutions that leadership in those countries have encouraged over the years is their winning formula.

We can learns from Trump as a president, he had the blood to become a sit-tight president, but the strong institutional values in the US won't allow that. A man like trump would have used his business associates to sponsor media attack, uses religion and political affiliations to polarise the country if it were to be in Nigeria.

it is very bad situation almost everywhere, and every person in the country is feeling and having a taste of that badness!

Banks and "bank" now can no longer afford to run their Air conditioners in this period of serious heat when it is needed most. Everywhere is just hot.

Before, that is some years back, when we step in to a bank hall, it is as if you step into a giant fridge.

our banks are no longer banks again, they are now money joints.Their workers are no longer motivated.just hanging on.who do naija like dis omaseo.

Very wrong about Trump. He was RIGGED out by both local and international conspiracies. Unravelling post-election audits further proves the nation. What is revealing in Arizona Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are quite disturbing.
President Trump never wanted to be a sit-tight, rather fighting to uphold the integrity of American election.

That's where thorough self discipline comes in. That's the currency for any leader to transform this country.

The regime, they don't want to do anything to improve the country situation. When u attempt to call them to order, they don't hesitate to use that power to obliterate you.

Case in point, see: cct chairman, edu minister.

Until we elect sensible humans and not thuggish elements who are not in touch with reality. We have to wait for this present toddlers in our society to grow up to change the situation of things. It can only be possible if national orientation agency, mass media, schools and homes put the kids in the right direction. The adults mind are already messed up beyond repair.

You don't know the real issue.

Power will never be fixed until the citizens starts paying for it the way they pay rent. Power require
huge investment and no smart person will put money into a business where the customer's hate paying.

Less than 20% of power users actually pay their bills. The rest use power illegally or only pay parts
occasionally.
When a landlord kicks a tenant out for owing rent, the tenant accept their fate, when NEPA disconnect
debtors, they mobilize thugs to go beat officials and even burn offices. Many state government are owing
billions in debt to NEPA. Yet, we expect stable electricity.

The government also has a role to deregulate the power sector and law enforcement against vandals and power thieves.

People will always pay their bills if the power is constant.you can't be paying bills for what you are not enjoying. On the part of Government agencies indebted to the power companies, there are better ways to tackle it without throwing a punch, just cut off the power without going to the Government agency and heaven will not fall.In America Common digital satellite system for TV,if you illegally use it you will be detected and quickly apprehended.
