While we are yet to independently verify if the move by the Redeemed Christian Church of God ( RCCG ) to have a political department in all levels of the Church is in preparation to massively support the aspiration of Professor Yami Osinbajo in becoming the next president of Nigeria, we would like you to read what the opinion of Farooq Kperogi.

I think it's a welcome development. It is high time the Church takes over governance.

Imagine if all the big gib churches follow suits, Osinbajo will become a force to reckon with.

Anybody but Osinbajo will be fine by me. Osinbajo as the vice president since the last 8 years is a proven failure, we shouldn't be reinforcing failure, rather, we should be doing away with it. I wonder what other proof Nigerians need? The current state of Nigeria's economy (which he chaired for the better part of 8 years) is more than enough proof. The handwriting is already on the wall, NIGERIANS, do not make the same mistake of 2015.


I can see Osinbajo's paid agents are trying to hijack the thread. Poverty has been badly weaponized in this country.

I think Professor Kperogi is partially right but the opinion is loaded with affirmations that seem wrong.

Osinbajo is good.

I have been through some lessons in RCCG emphasizing the importance of Christians in politics as well as training people into becoming good leaders. The above department may be a way of seeing how to raise good leaders for different positions. Politics has since been left for godless people as well as people who have little or no leadership trainings. This to me is a welcome idea if the department will encourage good people to succeed in politics as well as train people on how to become good leaders.
Even the Muslims should train people on how to be good leaders. Same with our curriculum in starting from the Primary school. We need to change our Children's perception on what leadership is about- laying down your life for others, feeding and tendering the followers rather than suffocating then and feeding on them.

Osinbajo is a great man. I fear the move by the church could give his ambition a bad angle to other religions.
