Soldiers killed by bandits destined to die; God repose their souls: Gov. Bagudu

Daredevil bandits had earlier in the week ransacked five communities in the Zuru Emirate of Kebbi, killing no fewer than 17 soldiers, five policemen and 68 vigilantes.

Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu says soldiers who were killed in bandits’ attack on their barrack were destined to die that way; he, however, prayed for the repose of their souls.

The governor expressed his sentiment when he visited the 1 battalion Dukku barracks in Birnin Kebbi on Friday to console the family and colleagues of the slain soldiers.

“As Muslims and Christians we all believe in destiny. The recent happenings are destined by God, we pray that God will avert future occurrence,” Mr Bagudu asserted. “We fervently pray for the repose of the souls who died and once again sympathise with their families.”

Daredevil bandits had earlier in the week ransacked five communities in the Zuru Emirate of Kebbi, killing no fewer than 17 soldiers, five policemen and 68 vigilantes.

Mr Bagudu, alongside other top government functionaries including the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar-Yauri and Acting Head of Service, Sufyanu Garba- Bena, attended special prayers at the barrack’s central mosque for restoration of peace and for victims of the attack.

The governor also wished other persons injured in the attack quick recovery while he prayed for “restoration of lasting peace and tranquility to Kebbi and Nigeria at large.”

Mr Bagudu urged people to demonstrate sympathy to the families of the deceased by assisting particularly widows and orphans within their midst.

Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Dukku Barracks Central Mosque, Imam Mukhtar Muhammad, offered special prayers for peace in the country as well as for all those who died in the attack in Kanya of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area.

Mr Bagudu had on Thursday directed Mosques and Churches to offer special prayers on Friday and Sunday, respectively, following the recent killings by bandits in part of Zuru Emirate.

Failed state. It's just a matter of time before the masses rise up and overthrow these idiots that have held power for so long but have nothing to show for it.

The political elites have failed the nation. They keep looting and looting, giving their children and wards the best that life has to offer, what about the common man?

Destined to die? Are prayers the solution to the problem? Lives are just being wasted unnecessarily in this country.

Destined to die? For creating an insurgent in your region for political gains and be sacrificing innocent souls for your ambitions?

The North should face it alone ... Boko Haram, Bandits are politically sponsored in the North.

You Atiku Bagudu and Bokoharii are destined to die in a way far worse than our fallen heroes.

Just hear the useless statement. No regard for the fallen soldiers or their grieving families.

Lol
Sometimes I wonder how destiny works.

If you were in a sane country, and you got shot, there's a 50% chance that you would survive depending on where you were shot.

If you are in Nigeria and you were shot, there's a 98% chance that you would die because of the system.

Now is a man's mission in life dependant on destiny or the system where he finds himself?

If these governor's aren't sponsoring the bandits, would the soldiers have died?

Nevertheless, being a soldier, you already have it in mind that you would die on the Job one day.

Fuvck the police though, I am not feeling any remorse for those demons. I'm glad lesser of them are away from this earth.

It's pity what a governor is saying

You can not be hitting your head on the ground more than 20times daily and still think normal.
So I am not surprise

Just negodi this man saying that God has destined them to die. This is gross exhibition of stupidity. We all know that a soldier may die in war front but at least in a system that works, this soldiers won't have died in vain.

Our government has failed the armed forces who sacrifice their lives for the safety of the citizens.

Shame on him for saying such rubbish.

This is why I support that before any Nigerian politician presents their self for any elective office, they should undergo psychological evaluation. Imagine a man that should be in the psych ward, heading a state government

That teaching of Islam which many Muslims hold that what ever happens to anyone is the will of God or destiny as they call it is fundamentally flawed. God has given free will to man to do anything he chooses but the consequences of those actions are what you see in the wickedness around the world(since most men have chosen the path of evil). The killing of those soldiers is not the will of God neither is it their destiny. It is the wickedness of the bandits and the failure of the entire security apparatus of the country to do their work of properly. As long as muslims have that belief that anything that happens is the will of God, bandits and fulani herdsmen will continue killing people as they please and defend their wickedness as the will of God while those ignorant muslims who end up as their victims accept their fate as the will of God and the cycle of violence and death continue all over the north. In truth, Islam is not a true religion of God but the Arab people's culture of violence and deceit.

Northerners can kill you for this statements.
First, you spoke the undiluted truths about destiny - the major tool Northern leaders continually harness to keep their masses docile and lazy.
second, you dare to speak against the flaws in their religious doctrine!
As long as it has to do with their religion, you can never be right!

I doubt if he really said that?, If true, then he can as well as don't use Nigerian security men as he's guards. He should hope on destiny for protection. People's bread winner are being wasted in senseless war just to massage one's ego. People should keep voting funny characters as leaders, they will get sense by force.
