Anyway, it will be a pyrrhic victory, even if Ukraine comes out victorious. The country will be in shambles. Why urge this man to stand up to Putin when you weren't going to give him the full support to successfully stand up to him? He was politically naive. Once the West through intelligence knew Putin was going to strike, they should have urged a compromise with the bully. Russia's economy will be badly crippled by the sanctions heaped on it and would leave it handicapped to invade other countries next time. However, history has shown that countries like Iran, despite crippling sanctions, can still cause a lot of havoc from afar, using proxies. What am I even saying?  |
