While many Nigerian movie stars work in Nollywood, others have chosen to pursue their careers in Hollywood and act in American films. They are now respected by Hollywood actors, directors, and producers, and have appeared in a number of high-budget Hollywood films.

There are some well-known blacks in the entertainment industry today who excel in their fields. People often believe they are black Americans or Africans, but the truth is that some of these actors are Nigerians as well. Some of the celebrities on the list were born in Nigeria and raised overseas, while others were born and raised in other countries.

1. Adewale Akinnouoye-Agbaje

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is a former model and Hollywood actor who was born in Washington, D.C. to Nigerian parents and speaks English, Yoruba, Swahili, and Italian fluently. He is most recognized for his performances in the films "The Mummy Returns," "Pompeii," "The Bourne Identity," and the television shows "Lost" and "oz," as well as "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls," and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." He also appeared on the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones."

2. Forest Whitaker

Forest Whitaker is a well-known Nigerian-American actor, director, and producer in the film industry. Several significant accolades have been bestowed to him, including the Cannes Film Festival, the Academy Awards, and the Golden Globes. "Phenomenon," "Armed Resistance," "The Last King of Scotland," "Return of the Hero," and many other films are among his credits.

3. Sophie Okonedo

Sophie Okonedo is a British actress and singer who was born to a Nigerian father and a Jewish mother. Young Soul Rebels, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and Stephen Frears' Dirty Pretty Things are just a few of her notable roles.

4. Kazeem Kae-Kazim

Kazeem is a Nigerian actor who was born in Lagos and raised in Ogun. He has been in several successful films, including "Hotel Rwanda," the "X-Men" TV series 24, and criminal minds. He has also appeared in films like "Last Flight to Abuja," "Black November," and "Half of a Yellow Sun" in Nollywood.

5. David Oyewole

David Oyewole, a Hollywood actor, was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, to Nigerian parents. He's been in films such as The Butler, Small Island, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Middle of Nowhere, Lincoln, and Blood and Oil, among others (a film about Niger-Delta, oil, and militancy in Nigeria)

6. Chiwetel Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor, an award-winning actor, was born in 1977 in London to Nigerian parents of the Igbo ethnic group. At the age of 13, he began acting and eventually joined the National Youth Theatre. He was accepted into the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the end. He appeared in several Hollywood films for which he got numerous honors. "12 Years a Slave," "Dirty Pretty Things," "Serenity," and "2012" are among his most well-known works.

7. Ebubennem Megalyn Ann

Ebubennem Megalyn Ann Echikunwoke was born in Spokane, Washington, on May 28, 1983, to Nigerian father Onigwe Echikunwoke of Igbo ethnicity and English and Scots-Irish mother Anita Laurie.
