protesting for education under buhari is waste of time. you all should wait when Peter Obi assume office, you present your needs and he will resolve everything to the last drop. On Peter Obi we stand... Nigeria must work |

Unless I don't understand funding of public universities in Nigeria, I don't see any reason a State owned university would embark on general strike Federal universities over issues of implementation of agreement between Federal government and federal universities on funding of federal universities. Does Federal Government now negotiate collectively for and on behalf of State Governments in Nigeria with regard to funding of both state and federal universities? I don't think so. So state universities need to negotiate directly with their respective state governments that own these universities and allow federal universities negotiate with Federal Government. 1 Like |

Unfortunately, we operate feeding bottle federalism. Education at all level should be the turf of the state only. It is out of place in federal system for federal government to dabble into education system. The first of the universities were of regional government affairs. The same for all these unity schools (federal colleges). Federal government can have specialised institutions like NDA and so on but it high time the federal government reconsidered it involvement in education. Its duty should be supervision, quality assurance and advisory |

Usually Delta schools have always been backing out from strikes except you guys have been unaware. A certain pay is given to ASUU bodies and our schools carries on their academic activities. That was what made lots of us graduate on time and when due without any hitches. Thank God my state academic leadership showing strong determination to stand by the students. They know it's stupid to keep allowing these stupid ASUU greedy guys to jeopardize education because of their greed. Nothing is wrong with our higher institutions, they're all fit for learning and people are ready to pay for the education, FG pays them monthly, what do they really want? let FG dissolve ASUU and elect new leadership for Nigerian varsities, the FG can. I don't know why people think they're entitled to too much treasures to the detriment of others, EFCC better start checkmating these ASUU guys. |

The State ASUU will be the ones to weaken the Federal ASUU.... If the State government are not owing their lecturers, why should they be on lockdown After all, Private institutions are not locked because their paymasters are not owing them. Federal ASUU will have to look for pressure groups that will support them...if all State institutions are back in class...I don't think FGN will take federal ASUU serious |

Moblux:exactly moreso it's time we prioritize primary and secondary School education.... Education at primary and secondary School level for public should be free and quality with a mandate to Having at one primary and one secondary school at every community in Nigeria... University education that's luxury can be on premium fees those who can afford it can get scholarship sponsored by private individuals, corporate bodies and government fund... There should be vocational institution well funded by govt... With well qualitative primary and secondary School education people can live a good life even without university education... 1 Like |
