State Governors will cry...by the time they are unable to pay workers salaries...Workers will cry and compel NLC to agree with the FGN to remove fuel subsidy..so that their salaries will not be affected.

All na chain reactions and plan to force the masses to "beg" the FGN to remove subsidy

Brace up Nigerians... Subsidy will be removed soonest

The NNPC is the cesspit of corruption of every corrupt administration of the NIgerian government, including the present administration like the NYSC and every conduit for corrupt practices in the corridors of power in Nigeria.
NIgeria was more progressive, peaceful and united before the NYSC and the NNPC became corrupt from 1976 when General Olusegun Obasanjo became the first Yoruba Head of State of the Federal Republic of NIgeria. He handed over political control of NIgeria to North in 1979 and twenty years later in 1999 the north gave it back to him and in 2007 he gave it back to the north and it would have been returned to the south west again in 2015 if not for the unforseen circumstances of political conspiracy.

Ok, until that happens. But nobody is stopping the government from removing subsidy. The problem is that government and cronies are making a lot of money from subsidy and don't want it removed.

Let be honest....
U will agree with me that petrol will rise to over N400/litre
answer the simple question
Can u bear the cost of every that will rise along With it ...food prices especially and of course can u buy petrol at that rate comfortably
..

Be honest with ur self...and u will see DAT..
It not government this time...

One thing I know is DAT..if we don't do it now and face the consequences... Subsidies will still continue to go up as our demand is increasing and it will reach a level that petrol will even beN500 and FG will still be paying subsidies

It's for that reason that Goodluck Jonathan wanted to remove the subsidy during his tenure but Buhari and his party politicized it.

There's no good time to remove the subsidy, so anybody waiting for the right time to remove subsidy is either dishonest or stupid.

In other words...yes.

GEJ was weak..

Buhari tenure is unfortunately hit with..

Massive crude oil price fall in 2015...
Corona virus pandemic in 2020
Now Russia Ukraine crises 2022..

These are three events buhari had no control over but shock the defenseless economy massively...
mention any thing major during OBJ and GEJ times combined...
Yes I will agree that there is no right time...
But it would have been better and bearable if GEJ or OBJ did it because the world was relatively better economically during their time...and The country made more revenue ...
If they did it and rehabilitated the refineries ..we would have saved 40% of forex and won't be have naira loosing so much value..
Now u have different happenings hiting bad at The global economy. Nigeria inclusive.. It will be almost succide for buhari to do now..

The only safe spot for Nigeria to remove this subsidies is to wait for dangote refinery to fully come on line and enter agreement with him maybe to sell crude at a discount, save forex , reduce the dollar rate to N360..

After all this they can now remove the damn thing...
The consequences will be minimal then

anyways..It normal for opposition to use anything to score political points..DAT my only valid explaination for APC going against GEJ when he had the chance to do it.

Extremly, as useless as the "P" in psychology.

It not about building refinery...
If we refine our oil..subsidies will still remain if refineries are not allowed to run at a profit

You don't understand how it works

Let me show you how it works

Case 1:
We produce crude oil a cost, pay for shipping to overseas, pay for refining, pay for taxes abroad, pay export duties abroad, pay for shipping to bring it back. In the end we have a landing cost of about N500/liter of PMS. Then government pay 300 as subsidy while we pay 200...

Case 2:
We produce crude oil and Chanel it to refinery. We pay for refining and tax while creating jobs, we then send it straight to depot. In this case we are not paying for shipping to and fro abroad, we're not paying export duties and taxes abroad in dollars. How much do you think fuel will cost to warrant subsidy?

No government has ever had a smooth sail whether in Nigeria or elsewhere. But the current government is particularly a funny government of excuses. That's the real reason.

Crude oil price fall, they complain.
Crude oil price stabilize, they complain.
Crude oil price rise, they complain.

But since they used subsidy removal to play politics when a better government was willing to remove it, then they have nothing to blame but themselves.

All these fuel nonsense is just the more you look, the less you see. Buhari's government is just tactically removing fuel subsidy on a low key.
Who would have thought that all these while, when they were increasing electric bills, they were actually removing electricity subsidy on a low key? That's what they are doing to the fuel..

Labour threatened to shut down the country should FG remove subsidy, that's why FG is secretly removing fuel subsidy.

All this grammatical Jargon no concern me subsidy is the only Government benefit i have for being a Nigerian i provide basically everything for my self water, security electricity etc. Even the second niger bridge is Tolled. APC is a very smart and mischievous party they tried all means removing the subsidy but it would spell doom and back fire hence this hanky panky approach testing the waters with fuel scarcity to see the reception of increased fuel price across the country so they can formulate the best way to remove the subsidy.
