Omisore has Track Record of Disloyality.. He didn't Deserve the Position of National Secretary

When you look at the Political life of Senator Dr. Iyiola Omisore, and you can be assured he is nothing but a destabilizer in any party he found himself.

If you ask Omisore, who I will easy call a political harlot, what his biggest ambition is, I am sure he would confirm that it is governing Osun State. A dream he has failed to actualise multiple times since the advent of this republic.

Over the years, his perpetual failure at clinching the number one job in the state has remained a conundrum to many observers of the political development in the state, particularly, as he is regarded as a political heavy weight. But with his series of political losses, many doubt if he is a real gladiator or a mere paper tiger.

Omisore has switched political parties multiple times in his desperate and frantic bid to govern Osun. From Alliance for Democracy (AD) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and now All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the 2018 governorship election where he contested under the SDP, he came third in the race with 128,049 votes. The former Osun East Senator became the political beautiful bride as the election between now incumbent, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, headed into a re-run in some areas.

Omisore, who was facing several charges by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, took the offer from the APC In 2018 as he was allegedly promised a soft landing in his case with the anti-graft agency. The supposed offer was that; his seized travel passport would be released, his case with the anti-graft agency dismissed and his frozen bank account unfrozen.

In the long run, he pitched his tent with Oyetola and the APC won by a narrow margin.

Some sources have said part of the deal with Oyetola was that when Oyetola finishes serving his second term as governor, he would support Omisore to succeed him. It however appears the former Osun Deputy Governor is on the verge of being disappointed as a top force in the state’s APC; former governor Rauf Aregebesola, the Minister for Interior, said the party will never be ‘hijacked by murderers’.

I recall that the only dent on Omisore’s reputation is his alleged involvement in the cold-blooded murder of former Justice Minister and Attorney-General, Chief Bola Ige, an allegation Omisore has debunked severally.

With the recent political play in Osun State, most especially with the faceoff between Governor Oyetola and Aregbesola, it seems Omisore’s defection is near.

Omisore came to APC because of his selfish interest and over ambitious, i can tell you categorically that Omisore will live APC when he realise he can't get what he want, his track record shows that he can never be trusted with anything sensitive in the party because he will end up destroying the party if he realise the game is not favouring him.

Omisore don't have the locust standing to become the Next National secretary of APC, he should be hiding his face in shame.

Aregbesola’s Group Fumes Over Omisore’s Secretary Ambition, Says APC Should Stop Dancing On Bola Ige’s Grave

The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has reacted to former Deputy Governor, Sen Iyiola Omisore’s National Secretary Ambition.

The group members in whom are diehard supporters of Immediate Past Governor and current Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola noted the dangerous dimension that some leaders of the party within and outside the state are taking to realise their ambition.

Some leaders of APC who are very loyal to the Governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola have started canvassing for Omisore to be the national scribe of APC.

The development, CityMirrorNews gather did not go down well with Aregbesola’s Loyalists and had since vowed to do everything within their reach to ensure the ambition did not see the light of the day.

In a statement signed by TOP Chairman, Adelowo Adebiyi and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, on Monday, the group sounded a note of warning to the APC leader who according to them “have embraced a fair-weather friend, who is carrying the albatross of complicity in the death of our leaders, Chief Bola Ige.”

“As a caucus of progressives, we owe ourselves a duty to caution our leaders and other members of the party on the forthcoming National Convention of the party, as regard the inordinate ambition of Senator Iyiola Omisore.

“Omisore joined our party in 2021. Before then, he had been a consistent antagonist of our tendencies. He was one of the military politicians who found abode in AD before he joined the PDP when his inordinate ambition could not be realized. He was in PDP between 2002 and 2018. He joined SDP in 2018 to contest the governorship election where he lost to Governor Gboyega Oyetola. He joined the APC to safe his Political Ambiton.

“It is unfortunate that a set of people have found an ally in a person described as ‘a wolf in wolf clothing’ by Chief Adebisi Akande, who said Omisore crept into his life like a silent malignant cancer. It is more unfortunate that the leaders, among who are two governors in the South-West are supporting a stranger who does not share or believe in the progressive’s ideology to take-over the Secretariat of the party.

“We condemned and reject in its entirety, the selfish imposition clothed in consensus for Omisore to become the National Secretary of the party. It is crystal clear that the leaders who ratified Omsiore are only interested in protecting their selfish interests at the expense of the wellbeing and progress of APC.

“This undemocratic behaviour of the leaders is becoming an albatross to the conduct of the operation of APC and may cause untold catastrophes and disaster if not curbed. The way the few leaders carry on with the affairs of the party by taking for granted the feelings of other party members may cause APC self-immolation as the PDP had experienced.

“The few leaders, especially in these circumstances, have behaved in worst manner than the ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Governors as christened by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

“The Osun Progressives (TOP) wishes to put on record the fact that there was nowhere a stakeholders meeting on consensus of who to push forward for the position of National Secretary was held. If such is held, no rational member of the Progressives family will opt for Omisore in Osun. Only characters who do not know the essence of what the Progressives family is all about and ignorant of history will make such flippant decision.

“If Governor Gboyega Oyetola will not mind being an associate of an alleged murderer and sponsor of many killings in the state, we at the TOP will not join him and we are telling the whole world that we are not going to join those dancing on Uncle Bola Ige’s grave with his alleged killer.

“We wonder if it ever occurred to Governor Oyetola what the perception of the people of Osun and beyond will be if Omisore is made the National Secretary of our party.

“We seize this opportunity to back the efforts and stated position of President Muhammadu Buhari that all interests within the party must be brought on board and accommodated in delivering a successful convention and invariably a united APC going forward.

“We note that the sole decision of Governor Oyetola to sponsor a candidate for the position of the National Secretary zoned to Osun is an affront on the well stated and accepted opinion of the president and capable of painting APC in bad light in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society.

“We call on all men of good will to prevail on Governor Oyetola not to rubbish the President’s good intentions, and abuse the democratic value of APC on the altar of his rabid ambition for second term by single handedly determine who Osun will push forward as it’s representative in the APC National executive.

“We urge every active politician to read about Omisore in‘My Participations’, an autobiography of Chief Bisi Akande. ”
