Imagine a world where every man, woman, and child could enter cyberspace and visit a virtual church. Imagine how this could revolutionize religion.

Imagine a world where people from all over the world have access to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Where people don’t have to be physically present to take in information or give out information. You don’t need to imagine anymore, because that place exists. The future is here, it’s the Metaverse!

We’ve been using the words metaverse and virtual reality in one sentence for so long, we might forget we’re talking about two different things! The metaverse is a concept based on science fiction, combining elements of cyberpunk with virtual reality. Virtual reality is a computer-simulated environment that can be experienced through sights and sounds. The name also evokes an emotional response (depending on who you ask) due to it being used as the setting for Ernest Cline’s novel Ready Player One.

Ever since I heard about metaverse having churches in it, I wondered what this would look like. Would it make people feel closer to God? Would people even use it?
