Desperation for power is making Malami to usurp the job of the legislature. If we are still a democratic nation that operates separation of powers, then Malami and his likes will bow to the power of the legislature soon.

I think the implication is that while you are still serving as an appointed personnel, you can't be voted for. Not an expert, but that's my understanding. So, people like malami still serving a tenure cannot contest an election in any party

I honestly don't understand what the section implies. can someone please help in interpreting it in layman's terms? and why the fuss about it? thank you in advance

The section says if Buhari can’t satisfy Aisha coochie, Malami has the right to give her doggy and by doing so! Nigerians have the right to sweep Buhari with house broom away from Aso Rock back to Daura!

A serving minister or commissioner ie political appointees are not allowed to contest election while still serving. He has to resign before participating in party primary elections. Malami and Amaechi and other ministers want to contest governorship and presidential primary elections without resignation from their present positions. Do they are desperate to delete the contentious section in order to use govt influence to sway the electorate in their favours.....

For this Assault of the Right of the Senate to make Laws,
Malami is supposed to be sacked and
replaced immediately

Malami doesn't understand that his role as Attorney general is not to rewrite the Constitution

We knew he is doing everything to ensure the deletion of the said section to pave the way for him to contest for governorship of kebbi in the next election.

Well said. Bubu government will go in Nigeria history as the worst as ever happened to this country.

Very selfish set of people, how can a political appointee while in office still seek to contest election while in office without resigning.

Very unpatriotic set of people!

What kind of Attorney General do we have in this country? This move is self-serving and an affront on the will of the majority of Nigerian.
