The Senate has requested that Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, investigate and punish foreigners who abuse Nigerians in various regions of the nation.

They reached the decision in response to a proposal submitted by Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo at Tuesday's plenary in the National Assembly's upper chamber in Abuja.
Senator Degi-Eremienyo moved the motion to call attention to the worrying trend of foreign nationals torturing and inhumanely treating Nigerian people.
In the Gudu District of the Federal Capital Territory, he mentioned an instance of violence against one Friday Ndubuisi, who works for a security firm, and two others, one of whom is a Chadian, who work for another security firm (FCT).
According to the congressman, the three was severely beaten because they were accused of stealing iron rods, which resulted in the death of the Chadian national.

He added that the torture was authorized and carried out by a Lebanese national who works for one of the firms in order to get a confession from them.
The Lebanese is claimed to have instructed some of his Nigerian subordinates to use rags to suffocate Ndubuisi and the late Chadian's mouths.

They were also brutally beaten with iron rods, shackled to a car, and driven about the grounds as the Lebanese loosed his dog to attack the victims.
Senator Isah Jibrin stated in his submission to the motion that there had been multiple instances of this.

"However, they (the crimes) are never reported for fear of being victimized again," he added. "I second the motion on this note."

Akinola Ajibola of the Senate has asked the IGP to investigate and prosecute foreigners who are mistreating Nigerians.

Senator Isah Jibrin stated in his submission to the motion that there had been multiple instances of this.

"However, they (the crimes) are never reported for fear of being victimized again," he added. "I second the motion on this note."

In its resolutions, the Senate harshly denounced the crimes against the victims, calling them "the pinnacle of man's inhumanity to his fellow man."

It urged the police chief to look into the Lebanese's conduct, as well as similar offenses committed by other foreign nationals operating alone or in cooperation with Nigerians or police officers.

"Those found accountable should be punished in accordance with our laws upon completion of investigations to serve as a deterrence to others," the MPs added.
They also ask the Ministry of Labour and Employment, as well as other relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), to take appropriate actions to address labor-related concerns in the aftermath of the occurrence and similar incidents in order to halt the trend.

The Senate Committee on Police Affairs was given the task of following up on the matter and reporting back to the parliamentarians on its progress and eventual outcome on a regular basis.

Pot calling kettle black. Same useless Senate with the useless NPF under an equally useless FG that have been oppressing and suppressing Nigerians in their own country? Charity begins from home. Idiots.
