This is pissing me off! It is too much! People going on about kids knowing too much is nonsense. They only know what you allow them know. Why does the word 'pornography' seem to be the constant here? Not dog, cat, or star. Very sick teachers!

Paid a visit to my sister. She has 2 kids 4 and 6. They came back from school and brought out their assignments with their last term exam script. When I went through the 4yr old script, I was baffled to see the kind of questions they have written because it's more or less of a primary school standard. I was told they would be starting exams in few days time but they still came home with loads of assignments instead of allowing their parents to revise their previous class activities with them.
Not that the kids are not brilliant but I just feel the of that exam questions and some of their assignments are way higher than their reasoning.
Is it same with the school your kids attends.?

Pornography grin

The teacher made mistake though

Oga it is not too much.
You think these millennium kids are like children of 80s and 90s?
They are a lot smarter and can handle all the test questions and of course they will need to do their assignments when they back get back home from school.
That doest mean they won't get any play time when done with their assignments.
On the contrary, millennium kids are the dumbest set of individuals. They have extremely poor literary skills and they don't know how to construct simple sentences in writing. I think their source of entertainment attributed to this because what is seen on tv these days aren't entertaining at all.

It's a norm that most African parents shy away from teaching their children sex education. That's why we have so many way ward children today.

Parents should not shy away from educating their children about sex on time to prevent them from learning those stuff from their peers.
Exactly. When my parents were beginning to tell me about some of these things, I was just laughing in my mind. Something my peers had made me know long ago. Parents simply don't understand that children learnt a lot more than they think these days.

Asking a child questions about pornograhy (#2, #3, #10, #18) is senselessness. The whole curriculum needs to be scrapped if they don't know that's unacceptable.
How is this is curriculum problem? A school sets questions and you are hearing ranting about curriculum

Maybe those are your own kids. Talk for yourself. I have seen young kids making grammatically correct statements at two. Children are really smart these days.

Nigerian education system is a joke because it is more of theory based than practical.

These kids should be engaged in more practical things instead of all these long theories that made Nigeria have too many paper professors with no real life solution being preferred by them.

Nigerians like to overdo things. While the world are moving towards adopting the Finnish system of little or no homework Nigerians are doing the opposite.

He is even trying to learn to drive car, once you park and mistakenly leave him in the car to get something quickly, before you return, he has jumped on to the driver seat and start pressing horn and twisting the steering with all seriousness cheesy

One day I left the car key mistakenly with him, before I returned this young man was already seated comfortably on the driver seat struggling to turn the car key he had managed to insert into the ignition hole, when I came back, I calmly told him to go back to the back seat he said and I quote "Daddy No" , I repeated it go and sit at the back, he confidently replied me again, "Daddy go away, I drive daddy car", I just burst into laughter cheesy

I had to forcefully carry him to the back seat.

Using pornography as option is senseless. They are not supposed to even let them know there's a word call that at that age.

Every other thing is normal. My kid brings homeworks always and until the last Friday before the exams

No. They will not.

They only mentioned it. They didn't explain what it means.
NEVER EVER mention to a child what you're not ready to explain to them or what they are not ready to understand.

You need to google the word " Smart" , and you all should stop using the word loosely.

At 4 I was at home, this age, you guys believe 2yrs is ripe for school yet turn around to complain that the load is excessive. I believe the 4yrs old was asked what she was taught except she wasn't taught.

If you think she is too young for teaching, keep at home till when matured.

Parents have the mind to take 4yrs to school and still arrange lessons that keeps the kid away till 4pm, I closed at 12:30pm, from primary 4 was 1pm. That was after starting school at 6.

Making good correct statements is way different from being able to read and understand. The boy is my nephew. He speaks and make correct statements though not all the time. I get thrilled sometimes when they speak the American English they learn from the cartoon they watch. So the problem is not making a correct statement but being able to read.

Vet schools before enrolling your kids. I doubt the teachers have professional education and training in early childhood/primary education and common sense.

You should go to that school with a cane. Their foolishness should be beaten out of them. undecided

If you were born in 90s, many kids I know started school before 4 years old.

Perfect Answer!!!
Just to add, OP, it is not too much!
These present day kids are damn too smarter than older generation!
Also they are not the ones reading these, rather they are thought to shade or identify the right answer when the questions are read out to them thereby building their listening skills.
