Russia says it will cut off gas supply to Europe after G7 vow The Group of Seven major economies has agreed to reject a Moscow demand for gas to be bought only in Russian currency. Russia's Vladimir Putin made the demand last week of "unfriendly" countries - presumably those that have imposed sanctions. He instructed the country's central bank to work out a procedure for buyers to acquire rubles in Russia, in a move apparently designed to support the currency - which has collapsed against other currencies. Germany's energy minister has said meeting the demand would be a "one-sided and clear breach of the existing contracts". He added that "payment in rouble is not acceptable and we will urge the companies affected not to follow [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's demand". In retaliation, a Russian politician said the G7's refusal will definitely lead to a halt in supplies, according to Ria news agency. All those countries that rely on Russia but still had the audacity to sanction Russia. Countries like Germany. Make all of them prepare for Recession. It is about to hit them hard, it will be swift and painful. Please russia should go about this plan immediately and without delay! Them think say, Russia is Iraq, North Korea, lybia or other small countries like Even USA that only do without talking. Russia puts its money where it's mouth is. By 31st of this month, all those dirty EU countries that refuses to pay in Ruble will be cut off. No time for nonsense. If Merkel was still in charge of Germany, I guarantee you that Germany would've remained neutral or even if they slammed Russia, they wouldn't have sanctioned Russia. Don't you see turkey? Turkey has slammed Russia repeatedly. Times upon times upon times without number. But one single sanction dem no ditch out. Russia didn't mention them in their unfriendly nation list. Infact the next round of peace talk is going to take place in Turkey I just dey laugh Germany because Germany is a country that produces a lot of things to sell abroad. They need cheap oil to maintain their production. We've seen how vulnerable they are to oil unavailability or high price. Their biggest trade partner is China, followed by Russia. Without any of these two countries, they would find themselves in recession. Yet them no think about their citizens, like turkey did. They join USA dey slap sanctions on Russia. Russia is now telling the EU "fail to pay in Ruble, we will not sell to you again". Who gives a damn about contracts? Do you even realize that there are countries in other continents outside Europe? Or wait, do you think there aren't other continents outside Europe in this world? Russia has big customers in Asia. sanpipita:Unfortunately, this is one scenario where the seller by happenstance becomes more powerful than the buyer. The sanctionee is asking the sanctioner to work against its own sanctions. Refuse to play by my rules, you will not only freeze to death, your gas driven economy will collapse before your own eyes. The very thing the sanctioner set out to achieve in the first place. A perfect checkmate! The sanctionee has other markets like Asia and some Europeans like Hungary are already breaking ranks, but the sanctioner has nowhere to source for alternatives, at least until the next 5 years. sanpipita: China, the world’s biggest importer of crude, India, the third largest importer of crude are already rushing it. As for gas, EU is just one market. (Nord stream & yamal) are both European pipelines. We also have power of Siberia 1 $ 2(China), Turk stream, Pak stream, Sakhalin 1 $ 2(Japan; 60% of Japanese gas comes from here, pipeline managed by Mitsubishi).
