FIFA are investigating the World Cup qualifier between Senegal and Egypt.
It ended in a penalty shootout marred by Mohamed Salah and his team-mates being targeted by lasers.

Senegal won 3-1 on penalties to book their place in Qatar. But a bitter fallout has ensued, with Egypt making accusations about their treatment in Dakar.

They filed a complaint which claims players - especially Salah - were racially abused, had objects thrown at them during the warm-up and their bus attacked.
During the shootout, Egypt players and their goalkeeper had green lasers shone at them.

An Egyptian FA statement said: 'The national team have been exposed to racism with offensive signs in the stands against the Egyptian players in general, and Mohamed Salah in particular.'

FIFA vowed to examine match reports before deciding on the next steps.
'FIFA is currently in the process of analysing the official match reports of the FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Senegal and Egypt,' their statement read.

The relevant information included in the match reports will be evaluated by the competent disciplinary bodies before deciding on the next steps to be taken.'

Racism?
Are they not both African countries?
Anyway, nothing is going to happen to Senegal's slot. They are in and there is nothing Egypt can do about it

Racism inside Africa again..

What's the fuse about who qualifies or not it's not like any of them will make it past the group stage..

Nigeria couldn't even win one match had they qualified.

cool

They may be sanctioned but i don't see Senegal being disqualified or the match being replayed.

The stakes in the Playoff format are very high, much like a cup final. Maybe CAF should consider reverting to 5group winners directly qualifying for the WC.

Yen yen yen.
The USA have probably the most complaint on racism... And those people are not from different American countries. They're from the same country.

We reason crookedly when it's not affecting us... When we're the ones suffering the racism now, you'll remember that Egypt is Arab and Senegal is Black African.
