I am an Uber driver in the USA. Don't be surprised, I hold a Bsc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from OAU, and I also hold a BA in Economics from the University of Ibadan. However, I found myself hustling, and does it pay?

From the documents, you should see $139,000 as gross payment of which Uber and other fees/tax on their side is 51,000 dollars. 88,000 dollars was paid out of which all my expenses including fuel, repairs, and other expenses is15000dollar. I have a tax return of 5000$ back. So I have 78,000 after all these. This is a very good income after tax. The income itself has attracted a lot of mortgage companies to me for a huge 3 and 4 family apartment in processing. Good. It is a good thing to pay tax as this is your record of being a good income and shows banks, Credit cards and mortgage companies your ability to pay. Based on this, I just got a Toyota 2022 from Toyota financial services for my Uber this year. Hybrid system and 52 miles per Gallon. The USA is a credit-based economy. God bless America!!! and Nigeria as well.

It is a new Car. I have 169 miles on it now. When I got it, it was 5 miles.

Lesson: You dont need to do fraud in US to become someone. It is an economy for those that are struggling legally. Meanwhile, I am not yet a pemanent resident but in process and I got to the USA in May 2018
