2022 Grammys: Full List Of Nominees And Winners At The 64th Recording Academy by LetDemKnow(m): 11:23am On Apr 04, 2022 |
The 2022 Grammys took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3. Several top artists, including Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Kanye West, Baby Keem, etc….with Wizkid, Tems. Femi Kuti, and Burna Boy flying Nigeria’s flag at the annual showpiece. The ceremony was originally scheduled to be held in January at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arenal; however, it was delayed due to COVID-19. Trevor Noah anchored the occasion, with performances from Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonik, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X and more. As usual, there were shocking snubs and nods, with the highlight clearly being how Afropop global sensation, Wizkid missed out on winning any award on the night from his two nominations. There were big wins for Bruno Mars and his Silk Sonic crew (Record of The Year with “Leave the Door Open”), while John Batiste won the Album of The Year with “We Are.” Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album, Tyler The Creator won Best Rap Album with “Call Me If You Get Lost,” Baby Keem emerged with the Best Rap Performance award, while Kanye West added to his ever growing list of Grammy wins, winning two on the night. There were also wins for Lucky Daye and Angelique Kidjo – Best Progressive R&B Album and Best Global Music Album respectively.
