Popular Nigerian singer, 2Baba has opined in a recent post he made online claiming that the Abacha looted funds were kept away from thieving hands. The singer stated this in an Instagram story in the context of corruption which has become a rampant thing in Nigeria at the moment. 2Baba stated in his argument that the looted fund might actually not be stolen by the former Head of State but kept away from thieving hands. Today, same Lagos state plays host to all the economic migrants and refugees from some 5 worthless barren villages. One thing many Nigerian fail to understand is that, during Abacha's regime, Nigeria government is under serious US sanction and would be difficult to trade in international market, hence the need to use third part to move money to offshore banking for trading. |

I am not surprise because i have known 2face to be a dull guy. Abacha was the head of states, if money was stolen or missing under him, it is an indictment to his government. Was there a law in nigeria that allow secret keeping away of nigerian common wealth by the government. It was not on official record that the money was kept for nigeria, rather the money was traced and discovered to have come from the nigerian government. How can a country money be kept safe with his name, family names and cronies? If the money was kept for safe and not stealing it, do you think it will be hard to get back the money from those countries as we are seeing. The man was a thief and a crook. Many things are happening just that there is always a padi padi agreement not to expose each other. SadiqBabaSani: Don't mind Tuface, he's trying to distract people from the drama happening in his family. Abacha was a ruthless dictator that would jail or kill anyone who questions his authority. So, looting money was the least of his problems. If he really wanted to save Nigeria some money, like Tuface wrongly insinuated, countries keep their money in foreign reserves. He should have saved it to increase our foreign reserves. So, Abacha was a common thief in military uniform who played ping-pong with the future of Nigeria. His death was one of the best things that happened to the country. Many people popped champagne bottles when his death hit the headlines. 1 Like 1 Share |

There might be some sense to that after all Abacha was not the only dead president or the only one that died in active service we had the likes of President, Shehu Shagari, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Murtala Yar'radua etc... They all seems like a saints who never loot public fund but that's not true. Abacha loot only all the ones been recovered almost every year. I stand with 2baba on this. |
