Wayne Rooney responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘jealous' remark after suggesting the Portuguese superstar’s move to Old Trafford had NOT been a success. Earlier today at a derby county press conference, Rooney reckons there will not be a player on the planet - other than Lionel Messi - who is not jealous of Ronaldo. Earlier this week, the now-Derby boss claimed Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford had not yet worked out as hoped. Asked on Sky Sports Monday Night Football if signing veteran Ronaldo has worked for United, Rooney said: “You’d have to say no at the minute. "I think he’s scored goals, he’s scored important goals in the Champions League early on in the season. He scored the hat-trick against Tottenham. "But I think if you look to the future of the club you would have to go with younger, hungry players to do the best to lift Manchester United over these next two, three years. "And obviously Cristiano is getting on a bit. He certainly isn’t the player he was when he was in his prime. And that happens, that’s football. "He’s a goal threat but I think the rest of the game they need more, they need young, hungry players." But Ronaldo responded on Instagram with the words: "Two jealous." We all know the old drunk is and hv always been jealous of Ronaldo.... Rooney was the young player in man u everyone thought will be the diamond in the future...but it turned out to be Ronaldo instead , who was not even British... Rooney wanted to be the one to lead utd to champion league glory, especially after scoring a hat trick on his champion league debut while it took Ronaldo 3 and a half seasons to score his first champions league goal but it was Ronaldo instead that broke records and took away his shine ... Kingcalls:Okay I hear you Mention 2 players in the league better than him statistically since he joined United. And who do you suggest United should have signed instead? Incase you have forgotten,The club use 2 good years chasing this guy and finally got him in Winter transfer. Guess what? He has been their best player since then. I remember he won 2 player of the month in his first 2 months despite not starting the league and I also remember he still manage to pull double figures. Bruno might not be the most technical in his position but you can hardly find a player who will displace him right now in that same position. United problem is beyond Just players,come to think of it, Ronaldo goals and fighting Spirit couldn't take them anywhere. Don't you think problem lie somewhere else?
