I saw that coming because that’s the essence of the whole manmade inferno. The amount of illegal activities going on under that bridge is mind blowing. Most especially, adulterated drinks. 1 Like |

Tetrahedron:Will you stfu! We’re you in lagos Pre 1999? Do you know how a ghost town lagos was becoming as soon as IBB moved the Capital to Abuja? How old were you in 1999? Have you visited Oshodi, Idumota, Mile 2, Maroko before 1999? If you do, you will not be spitting this garbage. 7 Likes |

NNPC is such a careless organization. They lay pipeline in residential and overpopulated areas without creating a clear demarcation and warning people that a pipeline is there. That's why you hear about fire almost every year in Lagos. Mind you this is not a tanker fire. Here is an investigation into a popular incident that happened in Lagos in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aT8Db8xfxQM 3 Likes 2 Shares |

I expect Lagos to wield the big stick and dislodge all traders and squatters under every bridge in the state....... But it appears they're complicit and had been collecting levies from these people and would therefore not be morally justified to take the right step 2 Likes |

I said it. That's the only reasonable thing to do in this case. It is true those traders have been occupying the under bridge illegally for years now turning the place to an illegal market ; one that is not approved by the government. However, the government has been complicit in all of this because they have continually collected money from these traders in form of taxes, levies and duties. This in itself confers legitimacy on the traders' occupation of the underbridges. The state and local government know of their illegal occupation rather than eject them, they profit from this illegal occupation. Calling them illegal occupants may be a thing for federal government, but the state and local government do not have a right to call them that. So it is only reasonable they find ways to relocate them or they risk breakdown of law and order. 1 Like |
