The PDP can keep sending their criminal puppets to vandalize power infrastructure and bomb trains as they please, what I'm absolutely sure of is their absence in Aso Rock come 2023.

Hopeless enemies of State.
it is unfortunate some people share a country with this individual.

Who was Bombing all the bombings when GEJ was the president?

As a matter of fact, any party that wins, the losing party will continue bombing from where the last party stopped.

Bombing may not stop, APC started it.
He who lives in a glass house doesn't throw stone at his neighbor, but APC was dumb never to know that.
Nobody has monopoly of being enemy of the state.

Have some shame. The APC is using the presidency account to report what the Ministry of Power should be reporting. That should tell you the government you staunchly support is on a mission to cover up its on failure.

For a government that is know to fail but quick to heap the blames on others, the signs are all too clear. The National grid has collapsed three times in the span of 30 days and that tells a lot.

Seven years down, you are still walking around, shamelessly defending a government better suited to be in the opposition.

The power plants work in synchronisation on the grid. Any sudden loss in load of that amount can distort the frequency and lead to collapse of the grid.

Of course they must manufacture an excuse. That is why no problem is ever solved in Nigeria. Because instead of working hard to solve the root cause, we must find some obscure reason to blame the entire failure of the national grid.

I'm surprised they didn't say the national grid collapsed due to the recent rains in Lagos that damaged the transformer on Awolowo road Ikoyi.

Good question, all transmission networks are linked to the national grid, the control centre is in Osogbo, once there is a fault on the circuit it must definitely affect the whole network stability which will then lead to power failure. It that simple but technical

I mean it takes a whole lot of stupidity to support Buhari but followers of the CLOWN are so stupid and devoid of thought processes. Why you think you are smart enough is what baffles me. Why is the Ministry's spokesperson using the presidency handle?

Or are you so daft not to understand that "PRESIDENCY" refers to office of the president? Why is the handle of the office of the president post making an announcement for a ministry under it?

This system is wrong, don’t we have people with brains in the power industry. Power should be decentralized to regions or states. So if an enemy wants to go to war with Nigeria, all they need to do first is to steal a cable in cross river and the whole nation will be in darkness, it doesn’t make sense na

But the same thing is happening in education where a dispute in a school far away will lead to industrial action, health same thing, security, the economy. A tanker driver somewhere is unjustly treated and the nation;s energy sector is totally grounded.

Due to our poor structure every little challenge become a national emergency.
When we say restructure to create multiple redundancies in public service across board, the owners of Nigeria will say no.
They feel that the quest to make the nation more resilient undermines their desires to have the back door constantly unlatched for vermin to creep in.

You can imagine if this nation faced external threats. Just one saboteur creeping in across the border and knocking down a few electric poles in a far away forest will cripple the entire country.
We are indeed too weak to be called a viable society of unified nationals.... too weak and too ignorant.

In the long and tortuous journey to privatization in the GEJ's regime a debate about the need to decentralize transmission was conducted but as usual the unwieldy nature of the Nigeria state prevailed.

The long and short story was that a decentralised grid will skew investment and thus services in favour of certain regions and localities at the expense of others.... and the best way to have 'equity' was a centralized grid with the 'government' in charge to ensure (in my opinion) the sufferings are evenly distributed and the real energy markets subsidize the fake ones.

There's no need to create external threats so long as Nigeria is saddled with northern Nigeria. Whenever a rational proposal is put forward they are the first ones to kick against it. It's like trying to walk with your legs anchored to a truck.

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF POWER

PRESS RELEASE

Further to our earlier press release, we wish to apprise the general public that the immediate cause of national blackout (system collapse) was an act of vandalism on a transmission tower on the Odukpani – Ikot Ekpene 330kV double circuit transmission line thus resulting in a sudden loss of about 400MW of generation. This consequently led to a cascade of plant shut down across the country.

We wish to notify the public that power on the grid is being restowed sequentially by the System Operator as other on-grid power plants are being dispatched to cover the lost generation capacity from the Calabar power plant owned by the Niger Power Holding Company Ltd.

Bruh,

The whole country is connected.

That's why it's called the "National Grid".

Although I once argued for regionalisation of the grid, so that the North can use solar and wind farms and power communities in the night via batteries, much like Tesla is doing right now.

Let the south use gas, the North solar. Connect via special switching stations so that other regions can carry any one affected by anything from natural disasters to scheduled maintenance.

However, the current system is not sustainable unless we have a massive boost in generation, like up to 40,000MW for a start.
