Third batch of Millionaires emerge from Erisco’s N100,000,000.00 empowerment programme

In continuation of Chief Eric Umeofia’s (Ikukuoma Amichi) resolve to lift as many families as possible out of poverty in Ebenator Okpala village, he has doled out N100,000,000.00 (making a total of N300,000,000.00 in all) in the third batch of his empowerment programme for Ebenator Okpala village and selected widows from Amichi. The event which was held over the weekend at Erisco Industrial Complex, Alausa, Ikeja saw more millionaires emerge from Ebenator Okpala Village, in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Recall that the First and second batch of millionaires have emerged at different occasions where each of the selected men and women went home with a million Naira and five hundred thousand Naira respectively. Chief Umeofia’s benevolence, fairness and compassion for the downtrodden is his most defining quality and not limited to Ebenator okpala as he equally credited selected widows from the four quarters of Amichi with a hundred thousand Naira each.

Chief Umeofia emphasized that the motive behind the benevolence was basically to lift as many people from Ebenator Okpala village out of poverty in view of the prevailing economic challenges in line with his original vision of creating wealth through empowerment and poverty alleviation, and not just accumulating wealth like some other rich Nigerians.

As a cerebral philanthropist, Ikukuoma Amichi has made a big difference and scored many first in Amichi town and beyond embarking on massive philanthropic gestures including being the first to build houses for the homeless, first to institute scholarship for indigent students and many have graduated from the University through his benevolence, first to sink boreholes for the community, first to build community hall and he has built churches and mosques and constructed roads as well as empowered many youths through employment to become meaningful members of the society etc.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries as Chief Umeofia enjoys giving back some of his wealth to the poor, widows, abandoned and the aged in his Amichi town and beyond and with this latest development, he has set an important example for other wealthy men in the country to emulate.

Beyond Chief Umeofia’s benevolence to his community and in line with his philanthropic gestures, his company, Erisco Foods Limited has equally made donations of materials and food items including tomato paste, 3in1 Garri mix and Ready to Eat meals valued over N200,000,000.00 to NGO’s, communities across Nigeria, the Nigerian Military and internally displaced persons in various camps across the country. The company equally made donations to the governments of Lagos and Anambra states as part of efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of both states during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Chief Umeofia has in the recent past demonstrated his support to the Nigerian Police with the rebuilding and reequipping of the Divisional Police Headquarters in his hometown Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State that was destroyed during the unfortunate ENDSARS protests and equally bought for the police division two operational vehicles that was burnt down during the protests.

Ikukuoma Amichi is of the belief that well-meaning Nigerians should extend this same gesture in their various communities as a way of lifting many people out of poverty and reviving the Nigerian economy. He restated that his philanthropic gesture should not be seen as a challenge to anybody, or to show that he is super rich but it is done for other wealthy Nigerians to emulate and replicate same in their communities or towns in line with their capacity. Ikukuoma also believes that it is not the amount of money you have that will take you to heaven but your humanitarian gestures as no dead man has returned to check how his wealth is being managed by his children, hence his continued desire to give back to the community.

The Tomato King equally use this opportunity to urge everyone to practically promote and patronize made in Nigeria products as it is the only solution to revitalize our economy in line with his campaign of ‘Buy Your Own Products, Buy ‘Made in Nigeria’ as it is for the best interest of our country, Nigeria.

The Chairlady of Ebenator Okpala Development Union, women wing, Lagos Branch, Mrs. Umenweke Chiamaka state that it has been proven without any iota of doubt that the best secret of living an excellent life is by giving in terms of contributing to the wellbeing of others in our community and the country at large. This best describes the life of the Tomato King as he has consistently used his resources to improve the life of people around him irrespective of ethnic or religious connotation. she urged the selected beneficiaries to make good use of the money in order for them to be a blessing to others.

The beneficiaries appreciated and eulogized Chief Umeofia for his kind gesture and prayed that God to God to replenish his stock a billion fold.
