E no get wetin Toks never do for this life, but yes you are right. They are same thing and the main local one is made with a variety of green peppers, hence the dark(er) colour. The one with red pepper and tomatoes is for GenZs. It is just like people that put tomatoes in ofe akwu. Strictly preference, but not the original way.

And no one uses vegetable oil for ofada sauce. I won’t be surprised if new generation cooks do that sha.
