Even when refuse containers are provided, we prefer shortcut along the road or drainage during rainfall. Where services are provided by refuse contractors, "we" still refuse to pay!

It is still the government I will blame. You see if government wants to do it they will do it. There should be heavy fines or sentences for people who dump refuse by the road medians. If you know how much government pays those people to park every fucccking day you will be surprised. But the government still wants to keep on paying. When you see heaps, government has owed those PSPs be that. I don't know why government cannot even do away from them and invest heavily in refuse collection.

The government will subside education,health, power etc and will also be carrying your refuse for free. Who does that? It is high time people pay for their refuse collection. If you know you can't pay,find where you will be burning your refuse. It is very gross and unfortunate seeing road medians littered with refuse. Shopping complexes with no refuse collection drums yet all they do is dump at the road medians

I wanted to buy something one evening beside the road,the woman was already sweeping where to place her wares,I asked her when she finishes she will go and dump the refuse on the road median abi? She could not utter a word. It is high time we start paying. At my former house,we used to pay and they come regularly because my landlord does not owe and they come regularly except during the rainy season when the road leading to the dumpsite goes bad but it has been fixed now..

People who owe them,their refuse are poured on the ground and their drums are carried away. It is high time governments makes people to pay. Anybody found putting refuse on the mediam should either pay a fine of 100,000 naira within 24hours or go to jail for 3days. Every house must start paying for refuse. If you don't have a place you burn it. It is an eyesore seeing refuse taking over the city.

The last time the commissioner of environment in Oyo state was seen on radio, Man was giving excuses and excuses. I felt like knacking him something on the head. Government has spent so much for refuse collection in Oyo. Upgraded the Awotan landfill and fixed the road to the Waste site yet refuse is still everywhere. Sometimes the PSP will just decide to strike for no reason because they know they can hold the government to ransom

Government should do better and make sure they stop these nonesense. Everyone and everybody should pay for it's refuse.

I think the market people should be held responsible before the government - do we even know if the market people contribute levy for waste management?

Where is it going to? If they don't, why can't they contribute money and pay private dustbin parkers to come and carry their refuse twice a week and dump it at the nearest public landfill?

Everything is government government, but it's the citizens that are generating the waste and dumping the refuse

This is learning for where ibadan dey.

Fuel price increase is the causes.

There is agreement between PSP to evacuate those wastes when the price of disel is minimal. Now the manager/operator of PSP informed the state government of increase in disel price but Government don't want to shift ground which make the PSP to abandoned waste on the roads and median saying they can't be continue losing their money.

But Government things is not quick like that because there are protocol to follow. The agency involved need to write letters to the governor informing him about the situation on ground.

For instance, the ministry has obtained an annual approval of #100m for waste management when the price of disel was #450 per litre, you all know the amount will not be sustainable because disel price is now #680-750 per litre.
They will need to write supplementary request. This is where delay occur.
In days to come the issue will be resolved.
But we need a good waste management system.
