The Ekong Sampson Campaign Organization wishes to express its profound gratitude to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), in the State ably led by our Leader, His Excellency, Udom Emmanuel, the State Party Chairman, Rt Hon. Aniekan Akpan and his Officers, Stakeholders and Elders of the Party and indeed, all Party faithful for the heartwarming stance and well applauded decision on zoning of the 2023 Eket Senate Seat to Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency.

Eket Senatorial District specially upholds a smooth, time tested rotational zoning and it has been the overwhelming wish of the people of Akwa Ibom South that the power sharing formula be upheld to further deepen the internal democracy in our party and ensure access to opportunity for a diverse senatorial district as ours. As such, with the Party's direction on zoning across the entire State, the PDP has once again shown that it is truly a people friendly Party.

The official zoning of the Senate seat to Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency has amply reinforced the position held by many that our principal, Rt Hon. (Barr.) Ekong Sampson, Ph.D is eminently qualified for the Senate seat.
Within Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency itself, there is unassailable power sharing arrangement in which Mkpat Enin, where Dr Ekong Sampson comes from, takes the Senate seat; Ikot Abasi gets House of Reps, while House of Assembly returns to Eastern Obolo. Indeed, zoning, experience and capacity all count heavily in favour of Dr Ekong Sampson for the Senate seat.

The zoning of the Senate seat to Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency will further sustain the peace in Eket Senatorial District, ensure the confidence of the people and further carry the interest of the diverse mix of the region. We appreciate the elders of Eket Senatorial District for towing the path of equity and justice by zoning the Senate 2023 seat to Ikot Abasi Federal Constituency. Kudos.

We therefore, once again appreciate our Leader, His Excellency, Udom Emmanuel for providing the enabling atmosphere for democracy and our party, PDP to thrive in Akwa Ibom State.
