Since the release of Barr. Vincent Ofumelu, MHR, scorecard, his achievements and antecedents had continued to send shivers down the spine of those pretending to be aspirants in the race for Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency seat.

Event had shown that Ofumelu remains the best Representative member in the history of Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency by every standard possible. He not only made the impossible to become possible, he proved to us that a first timer can pull strings only if they know their ounce and have the concern of the people at heart and not to serve their aggrandizement.

Ofumelu, a young firebrand lawyer and progressive has shown that the job of law-making shouldn’t be abandoned in the hands of every Tom, Dick and Harry or that of those recycling selves around political offices just to continue in their jamboree with public funds.

The achievements of Barr. Ofumelu had become a tall mountain to climb for those pretending to be aspirants in the coming elections. Reports has had it that a major contender for the APGA ticket has told his close supporters that he cannot run the election against Ofumelu having seen his records and achievements, this aspirant is considering giving support to Ofumelu instead since contesting the election will be a waste of his money.

Aside the twenty (20) self funding groups rooting for Vincent Ekene Ofumelu to return to the Hallowed Chambers, Oyi Progressives being the 21st group had yesterday during the Easter celebration thrown weight behind Ofumelu’s re-election bid.

The group made up of non-partisan young professionals, Business class, artisans and powerful women stakeholders said they will support Ofumelu re-election on the notion that he has done so well and the only reward for a Job well done is the opportunity to do more.

The spokeswoman of the group Mrs. Ukamaka Izualor said it will be morally wrong and a political miscalculation to support someone else when Vincent Ofumelu is still vying for a second term. Aside facilitating Road constructions to Nteje, Anaku, Omor-Umerum; Ofumelu equally facilitated classroom blocks, streetlights and motorized boreholes to Nteje, Awkuzu, Omor, Umerum, Omasi, Ogbunike, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Umunya, Anaku, Umueje and Umumbo. He also facilitated employment for our young graduates and non graduates, skill acquisition programs and Empowerment of youths and adults across the twenty six (26) political wards in the two Local Government Area that made of the Federal Constituency. Mrs Izualor said the people of Oyi and Ayamelum are instead thanking God for the gift of Ofumelu and has equally asked anyone contesting for the position to stand down. The mandate and re-election of Ofumelu is a collective mantra, anyone who wants to go to the National Assembly should extend their interest to 2027, Ofumelu is still in charge, Oyi Progressives declared.

Many other groups in both Oyi and Ayamelum have continued their mobilization for Barrister Vincent Ofumelu and had declared that there is No vacancy in the Federal Constituency with the popular motto of CONTINUITY NOT CHANGE.

Oyi and Ayamelum across party line for the first time will be supporting a candidate unopposed at the general elections.
