Obigwe hails IPOB for dragging Simon Ekpa to court over killings in Igboland

IPOB drags factional leader, Simon Ekpa, to court over killings in South-East

The National President of Igbo Youth for Positive Change, Chinedu Obigwe,has commended the Indigenous People of Biafra for dragging a factional leader of the secessionist group, Simon Ekpa, to a court over killings and destruction of property in the South-East

Obigwe who made the commendation in a statement made available to our correspondent in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Monday, said the matter was instituted against Ekpa in Finland, adding that his arrest warrant was awaiting approval by the country's authorities.

Obigwe said "IPOB decision to file criminal and terror charges against Simon EKpa in Finland is a good step in the right direction and a welcome development.

"We commend the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra for deciding to take the bull by the horn by filing criminal and terror charges against Simon Ekpa in Finland.

"The truth is that Simon Ekpa is behind the killings and other heinous crimes in Igboland and he should pay for his evil deeds.

Obigwe added,"Chika Edoziem, IPOB DOS and the entire leadership of IPOB have proven to the whole world that they are not supporters of evil by first exposing Simon Ekpa as the brain behind the killings in Igboland and their second step of filing criminal charges against him in Finland is a way of making the general public to know that they are not framing him up. Simon Ekpa is inhuman and he does not deserve to be walking freely in Finland.

Obigwe called on Igbo leaders to team up with IPOB to get justice for those that lost their lives in the instigated killings in the zone, adding that the Finland case should be collectively funded so that Simon Ekpa would pay for his crimes against humanity.

The statement read partly, "This is a man that denounced Nnamdi Kanu, insulted Mazi Chika Edoziem and Barrs ifeanyi Ejiofor that is Nnamdi Kanu close confidant. Their offence is that they are not in support of Simon Ekpa criminal activities. Another offence they committed against him is that they communicated Nnamdi Kanu decision to the igbo that they should end the senseless every Monday sit-at-home protest because of the devastating effect it is having on the Igbo economy.

"Simon Ekpa is the only one encouraging people to continue sitting at home every Monday and he is also instigating criminals to be terrorising the whole Igbo land every Monday and other days. All hands must be on the deck for IPOB criminal and terror charge against Simon Ekpa in Finland to yield fruitful result.

" Simon Ekpa cannot be in the comfort of his house in Finland and be instigating violence, killings and maiming in Igbo land. He has taken more than required and should face prosecution.".
