Imagine a Senior Advocate of Nigeria saying this rubbish that Age Babalola is saying. A SAN giving unconstitutional advice.

A good suggestion but I doubt if the current crop of leaders we have now will allow such idea become achievable.

They have already mastermind the whole election process.

I see Igbo posters on the thread for whose parents are controlled by illiterate bandits in Igboland insulting a Senior Advocate.

You can disagree with Afe and give logical reason but no. You want to give him knocks on the head just how you wake your mothers in your muddy villages.

Why? What would change besides perfecting plan to rig or allowing another docile an avenue to loot funds. One preacher like this will say i told u I still haven't heard election will hold. A date is set, election should go ahead.

Good suggestions but an idea of interim government is not plausible at all. An average Nigerian is a potential power monger, capable of turning things around for his/her favour. What about the said corrupt elites, professionals, politicians and former head of states ,etc that would make the list.

The only way to change Nigeria constitution is to make it open as referendum or plebiscite.

I’m talking about his suggestion that an interim government made up of former presidents, Vice Presidents, governors and professional bodies should take over the administration of the country for six months. Where in the constitution did he get that from?

You call that military policy a Constitution?....

So, you are saying someone who is a SAN doesn't know what he is saying? For Afe Babalola saying this alone shows that it is possible.

We need to look for ways on how to restore a better system of government in Nigeria and not keep talking about the law as if the president does everything according to the law. The question now is who created the laws? Are they not human beings?

I like the man suggestion, but for such a thing to happen, it needs to be back by the law.

Our lawmakers can still work on the kind of people's constitution he is talking about though

If we decide to throw away this constitution and work on a new constitution, 6 months won't even be enough. I doubt we won't all go our different ways sef cause we will never agree on the new constitution.
afe babalola should shut up for once...

The 1999 constitution was drafted by eminent Nigerians at the 1995 constitutional assembly. Members of the assembly were elected by Nigerians. The 1999 constitution was never a military creation.

"Babalola said that membeBabalola said that members of the interim government should be drawn from all living former presidents and vice-presidents; some selected ministers and governors and delegates of prominent professional associations"

Bad idea!
Adopting such an idea would exclude many states and majority of Nigerians from having their voice heard in the running of the country. But I would accept part time lawmakers because full time legislators is too expensive and it is draining the country resources. Furthermore, it is not so much about the system of government. The problem is Nigerian lawmakers came into the system to steal money and not to make lives better for the average Nigerians. That is why I will support any idea to get rid of them.
