A national newspaper, Vanguard newspaper has claimed that Frontline politician and APC presidential aspirant, Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has become the focus of strategists in ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) as the party continue to explore means of deciding its choice of presidential candidate.

The newspaper, in a new report over the weekend, titled Governor's scheme against Tinubu-Osinbajo-Amaechi amidst fresh plot against zoning said that, some strategists in APC have launched a fresh plot against the understanding that the 2023 presidency has been zoned to the south.

According to the report, Vanguard newspaper claimed that, the strategists are believed to be scared stiff that opposition people's democratic party may pick its candidate from the North and should that happen, the outcome of the 2023 presidential election may not be favourable to APC, they are therefore seriously considering drafting in a northerner into the race.

Sources quoted by Vanguard newspaper said that, strategists are considering Business man and former presidential aspirant, Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim.

"The name came from the blues but they are attracted to him because of his youthfulness, connection to South West, North central and North West.

Until recently, he claimed kwara as state of origin, but he now says he has traced his roots to kebbi state and how this plays out is left to be seen, the source said.

Recall that in this past week, Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim hosted all APC Chairmen in North Central zone, where he declared his intentions to formally joins the presidential race.

His formal declaration is slated for after Ramadan, 3rd may, 2023, in honor of the holy month of Ramadan.
