It was a super weekend as the two clubs who had been in the quest for top-four met in an epic encounter at the Emirates Stadium. Manchester United has lost all of their last four away games and their hope to put that behind them was again dashed by the Gunners. Meanwhile, Arsenal defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and continued with the winning streak against their rivals with a 3-1 scoreline. Edward Nketiah holds up the challenge upfront again after he last recorded a brace against the Blues. However, Raphael Varane stood up to the task at the center back after his return from injury and Ronaldo also returned to his striking role following the unfortunate loss of his baby.

Only 3 minutes was enough for Arteta's side to take the lead courtesy of a loosed-over ball from David De Gea which Nuno Tavares reacted by placing it with his right foot. Subsequently, Bukayo Saka extended their lead from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute after he was stripped down by Alex Telles. However, In what looked like a possible comeback for Ralf Rangnick’s side, Ronaldo reduced the goal deficit following Nemanja Matic’s cross in the 34th minute. Moreover, successive effort from both sides wasn’t enough to add up the scoreline as the first half ended 2-1.

Bruno Fernandez stepped up only to deny his team the opportunity to level up the tallies by hitting the goal post from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. Nonetheless, Granit Xhaka wrapped it up for Arsenal in the 70th minute after he fired an electrifying shot from outside the box as they sailed 3-1 till the final whistle.
