They are expected to execute projects in their districts with those funds

That is very wrong because, like you said, a senator should not have any business with fixing roads when the federal ministry of works is there.

In land mass, the whole of Abia state is not up to Akamkpa local government of Cross river state. Yet, Akampa local govt road is well developed. Some state no really supposed be state.

Problem with the country is that we often get entangled with misplaced priority.

This dude ruled that state for 8 “ffing” years and do absolutely nothing. Stole all and left to have kool aid in the upper chamber. Now he is back to shower benevolence on the people he rendered poor.

Very correct. The people are not impacted because the Senators use their constituency funds to make themselves richer. If he fixes roads within his constituency, it is within his official duty. So the job of the legislators not only involve talking , but acting.

People should ask why the State Govs or FG do not complain. It is simply because they know that such projects are within the official functions of the Senators.

Whatever way it goes, all we need is for our societies to be better developed.

Get the facts first.

That man was one time governor of Abia State. He is part of the reasons the roads are like that. He did close to nothing as governor.

Sorry to disappoint you to, senators are given jobs to do too. But in Nigeria, they embezzle it. It's like everyone there is covering everyone's tracks cos if you know how much trillions get lost to individual politicians daily, you may denounce citizenship.

Mature minds from Abia know and still remember his efforts towards making the state better when he was in power from 1999-2007.
Roads were good, salaries were paid, Sports in the state was booming (u can't even argue that), security of lives & property was great, lots and lots of employment. etc

Unfortunately for Abia, selfish governments succeeded him; and of course every good work requires maintenance, but the succeeding regimes did nothing to maintain those good works.

Even as a senator, constructing and maintaining LOCAL, STATE, EVEN FEDERAL ROADS, that's a plus. It's the job of the government in it's entirety.

He is by far the MOST ELIGIBLE Igbo candidate for the presidency (a true technocrat wey no dey rant).

His only achievement was that Enyimba Football Club won African Champions League in 2002 and 2003 through his support. Nothing more!
