WORKERS DAY: CHIEF DR GEORGE MOGHALU SALUTES NIGERIAN WORKERS

The Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and Chieftain of APC, Chief Dr George Moghalu, today joins millions of workers all over the world to commemorate this year’s Workers Day celebration.

Chief Dr Moghalu commends Nigerian workers in general and the organised Labour in particular for remaining focused on attainable goals while rightly protecting the interest of their members.

In a congratulatory message to workers, the NIWA boss maintained that all hands should be on deck in exploring innovative means to address and improve the lot of every working Nigerian and providing for those who cannot work, as well as committing to ideas that will address the economic challenges in the country for the general good of all Nigerian workers who keep the wheels turning, earn so that others can be comfortable, sacrifice to meet deadlines, work hard through uncertainties, show grit in the face of adversity and do their jobs diligently and with dignity.

Parts of his congratulatory reads:

"Indeed, the capacity to create value through productive labour is a key defining characteristic of a human being. Nations and civilizations have always developed through the application of human mental and manual labour to extract a higher standard of living from nature. It is therefore not surprising that May 1st of every year is universally dedicated to celebrate Worker’s solidarity, freedom, productivity and invaluable contribution to human development".

As workers marks this epochal day, Chief Dr George Moghalu prays the Almighty God to grant them more strength and happiness as they strive to work for the country and humanity.
