I really wonder what the issue is with Nyame and Dariye. (1.6 Billion) and 1.16 Billion) respectively. These men had a 10 year running litigation, were convicted and got jailed atleast for 5 years each. Run down to the core North where you have a ruling National Chairman of APC in person of Abdullahi Adamu who had a massive 15 billion case file with the EFCC his matter is swept under the carpet and forgotten. Sen. Danjuma Goje who has over 25 billion case file still hanging then it was transferred from the EFCC hq to Malami’s office as a bargain cheap for denying him the senate President seat after APC opted for Lawan. Shehu Shema of Katsina over 10 billion case,Sani Yerima of Zamfara 20 billion, Adamu Mu’azu of Bauchi 30 billion ( This ones case swept under the carpet because he played a very critical role for the APC in the 2015 general elections by giving out leak memo’s, minutes of meeting and Strategy of the PDP to the APC) it is already in the public dormain. No wonder as a party chairman he betrayed GEJ by traveling outside the country on the eve of the presidential elections. Oga Kpata kpata of them is Murtala Nyako with a 35 billion case against him by the EFCC. He is now traveling around the world spending the looted fortune between ABJ to Saudi, UAE and Qatar. What I am saying in essence is , Though corrupt as charged by the courts at least they had a serious running litigation spanning over a decade and went to jail they are the only governors with low corruption case file so I don’t see where the COS pardon is a big deal compared to those with high profile cases on their necks whose cases were swept under the carpet or did not have a single day in court despite the huge billions embezzled. Leave Nyame and Dariye alone they were asked to refund the monies and already went to jail that is enough punishment. |

how I wish he will be truly be giving the reward of Abobaku by God, some people just have to be rewarded for their deeds here on earth for others to learn. even in politics there must be honour, intelligence, responsibilities but it make sense to apologize from time to time, and even resign with your (political and personal) dignities intact. but truly our people mostly the politicians and office holders lack survival intelligence of dignity. partly or largely because our society do not value intelligence and honour but want to see it happen. but nature can not give you what you don't thrive to achieve or sustain- hence the nature of people in power here is as we have conditioned them to perform. imagine the place of General Abacha and Genaral IBB, today IBB is a good man but Abacha is a bad man. but in reality the opposite general is the case. its all in our perspective and view points as we value things. blame Generals or presidents all you want if you don't have a good law books as in our constitution even an angel will fail NIGERIA flat. we need in our constitutions the flowing points *We need Independent candidacy in our electoral laws *We need Judiciary autonomy with sovereignty to elect the chief Judges of the federation and its states *We need Community policing with regional by-laws *We need Regional by-laws *We need technocrats in technical positions as ministers * We need true independents of power in major offices like senate house of reps * We need veto power to be 20% vote of ex presidents (living and sane) and 30% professional body associations and total of 89% quorum. *we need inter tribal committee as well as inter tribal educational curricula in our school levels. 1 Like 1 Share |

Power arrogates people. Same can be said of Reuben Abati when he was with guardian newspaper. Immediate he was appointed by Jonathan, he became his past self. |

Brilliant piece! For me, Adesina,Festus Keyamo,Adams Oshiomole and co are organic intellectuals who abandoned their appointed station in life- that of speaking the truth to power; that of speaking in defence of justice, not of power. |

When you are given a job to do of which you did not deem it fit to reject the offer. Then you must get it done and do it perfectly well too. Be professional to the core. Emotions, emphaty and sympathy are simply a big frame of excuse. Government is government "god", you move against power you perish like you have no God. Besides if some people are so blind, deaf and dumb to attach so Little a value to the lives of their brothers, neighbour and fellow neighbouring community men, what option does a foreign assailant have. When it comes to Government and power you either get it right with your vote right from the very start or forget about it. Who is "Femi Adesina" to chastise the government, is that his job and what he was appointed to do. What are your ghost looking Senators and skull minning Reps along side the Ministers and the Governors doing. Since When has Femi Adesina become Buhari's father? |
