Education is fast becoming the major catalist that may give the incumbent governor of Osun State victory in the state governorship election which will take place in a matter of weeks.

The education sector of the state witnessed lots of controversies during the tenure of the last administration led by the current Minister of Interior, Agbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The then governor of the state came up with so many anti people reforms which was as expected greeted with all sorts of dramas. Some of such reforms include the unify school uniform system, meddling into structure and organisation of missionary schools and the reclassification of schools in the state.

To be a good leader, being a good listener must be one major attribute one must possess and that has not only negatively affected the popularity of the former governor of the state even among his country men where one would have expected that he commands and dictate the polity.

I must score the past administration high when it comes to investment on education with the construction of modern schools across all political zones in the state, the introduction of the tablet of knowledge (Opon Imo) which received recognition from UNESCO to mention a few.

But one can only imagine what can be the wrong doing of a man who committed huge state resources to developing the education sector?

It is no longer news that the rising popularity the incumbent governor currently enjoys was because of his actions on assumption of office. The governor upturned most of the reforms introduce by his predecessor in the education sector.

Governor Oyetola investment in the education sector cannot be compared to the achievements of his predecessor in the but Oyetola is reaping from the anti people policy of the last administration.

No matter what your intentions may be as a leader, not looking through the people’s view point on issues bordering on the structure of education may erode every giant strides made by such leader.

The present government have since reversed most of the reforms introduced by the last administration and this have not just endear the governor to the people but also improve his chances of being reelected.

For the Ijesa people who have had a long yearning for an upgrade of the college of education in Ilesa to University. The hope of getting their long time desire got rekindled when one of their son became the Governor of the state, but for eight year that hope got battered, but the administration of Governor Oyetola who understands that power is from God but it is exclusively domicile with the people brought joy to sons and daughters of IJESA land by acceding to their demand to upgrade the college of education in their domain to University and it has since paid off with the growing popularity of the governor among the Ijesas.

The reversal of same school uniform introduced by his predecessor and changing the school reclassification system, and also changing the school names to their original names to mention a few are some of those things that may work for the Governor’s reelection.

I like his cool headedness and gentility but I will not vote for him. The over thirty thousand unemployed graduates he scammed and their family will vote against him come July unless he releases our N3,000. When you know employment is for those who know somebody, why did you collect our money. Where are the employment list?
