There is nothing any of them can do. From now till next year Buhari has all the time to use EFCC and ICPC to hound and destroy most of these candidates. Onoghen, former CJN, is an example.

Stop comparing apple with orange. This is politics and is totally different from onoghen issue. If he doesn't handle it well his party will lose out. These guys have the capacity to kill the party. Buhari and Apc federal government have failed woefully. They're already hated by many so any political miscalculation or high-handedness will bury the party. You should know that buhari has lost major chunk of his influence as against 2015,so forget story he can't do jack. These aspirants are rich and influential enough to sustain any litigation with the EFCC. Orji kalu is an example, so forget story. The APC is like a fragile entity right now and he knows it.

Even in the chairmanship race he had to beg across board to get Adamu in. He was resisted by some governors then. Na men dey dis race o

Wetin we see sitting down

Dem no go see am standing up

Meanwhile na only tilumbu dey oppose consesus so far and he doesn't have the support of other aspirants in his region

The rest are either serving in buhari government, loyalists governor's, friends or business men benefitting from his government

So no big problem getting them in line

But this is democratic settings, why are they afraid of indirect primary?

Those political orphans are banking on consensus candidate.

NEVER
Tinubu imposed Sanwonu on lagosian by bringing deligate in the primaries. If Tinubu thinks he's popular he should decamp to another party and try his popularity after all it isn't the small APC deligate that determines who becomes the president

We all know the consensus candidate will most likely be a southerner and it's not Tinubu. Who do you guys think he would be? Osinbajo? Amaechi?
Goodluck Jonathan and maybe Bakare (??). Makes no sense, but there you are. Na naija be dis.

Some persons say buhari is fighting corruption and I wonder what their brains are made of. This election, will be the most monetized elections in our democratic history you'll see. It will make 2015 seem like a bad joke!

Already, see where they fixed primaries, so that anyone shot down won't be able to go contest under another party.

Sentiment apart. I think they want to clip tinubus wing. He is the only one they can be so afraid of not to contest in another party

Just like they killed the party after Obasanjo forced Yaradua on the party?

You didn't pick the message in the writeup, which is the use of EFCC as a tool to whip disenters into line. You are the one who thinks it is a question of apples and oranges.

By the time the primaries are done, nobody will jump ship because by then the timeline given by INEC for primaries would be almost due. Buhari is the most powerful Nigerian currently and he will not hesitate to use EFCC on any dissenting voice.

Focus on the point, which is that dissenting voices will be severely dealt with. These men gallivanting about have always imposed governors to replace them, so why shouldn't a certain Mr. Buhari fetch someone to also replace him, or should the gander not also eat what the goose eats?

If he contests in another party, he's dead in the water and he knows it. It's the implosion they're scared of

Una no dey hear word, that's why you guys never get any political calculation correctly. In the days of obasanjo the pdp basically was the only national party then. All other parties were just sectional,so the pdp could do nonsense and get away with it. There was no opposition basically. Now you have two major political parties with national spread, you can't try nonsense and not get burnt. The reason PDP lost in 2015 was the formation of the APC with a national outlook. If it was still cpc, anpp,Apga,Acn the pdp would've still be in power today. The game is different now. Buhari with his popularity in the north couldn't win the presidential election because he needed a party with a national spread. Pdp once had control of 31states in Nigeria. No opposition! The game is totally different now.
